I would love five minutes in a room with whoever makes the article decisions, just to state my case as to why it is unwise to tou with your playerbase this way. Although the fact that they are shafting X-Wing on wave 10 articles also makes it somewhat less glaring.
But seriously, we don't need 4 ******* articles on Doom, and a thousand articles on Arkham ******* Horror. I feel pretty safe in my belief that neither property is gonna bring in what X-Wing brings in, or what Armada could bring if they bothered to properly support it. I would concede they might appeal to a wider audience...but do they? Star Wars is a pretty strong IP, even if miniatures are a more hardcore gaming community. I know a ton of gamers, gamers who actually played Doom. Doom from the olden times, when it was the pinnacle of the genre. Gamers that loved Doom, and love board games.
Those gamers could not possibly care less about Doom, the stupid ******* board game.
But they are willing to play Armada. And feed money into Armada. And they would love to read about Armada. I'd be happy to toss even more of my money at this game if they just gave me more stuff to buy. Admittedly, this is anecdotal evidence. But theres anecdotal evidence where you look at it and go, well, different strokes for different folks. And anecdotal evidence where you look and feel like it probably holds up pretty well when extrapolated over a larger population. I feel like Doom the stupid ******* board game is one of the latter. I could be wrong, but I'm not. **** Doom.
**** Arkham Horror too, with all the tentacles you can find over the collected works of Lovecraft and his admirers in the Japanese Animation Industry. All the tentacles.
