Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout.

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

Why is there such disdain for fandoms when at the same time we're desperately clinging for ANY scraps of news for Star Wars models like rabid dogs? :P :D

I'll tell you what though, there's a segment of the Star Trek community that aggravates me to no end. I grew up on VHS of the Original Series, the Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine that's the Star Trek I know and love most. (Confession time here's what I got, I prefer Trek to Star Wars but I really do love Star Wars a lot hence me spending 600 bucks on this game lol).

However I also love Enterprise and the Kelvin Universe Movies but whenever it's brought up on Facebook or on other forums it feels like people get really nasty about JJ Abrams and the movies in a highly unnecessary and divisive way. I would argue in a way some people get about religion where my view is the only view on the [insert Holy Book of choice] and everyone else is an idiot or not a real fan. I'm fine if you dislike something and have an opinion but don't try and say that by my enjoyment of it my fan status is revoked :D

I really want to reread Dune now.

Have you seen how people react to Episode 1-3? Same as what you are seeing for Star Trek. Personally, I tell em to **** off because their opinion has no influence on what I enjoy.

Reese's come with three cups per pack in canada. I attribute this to the metric system. Metric is better.

- A Sad American

They come in 3-packs in vending machines in the US....

I'd wager a Canadian 3-pack costs the same as an American King Size (4-pack) after taxes.

Ah the Simplexities of measurement.

And Dras, I simply could not resist the urge to use "Northern Barbarians" in a honest-to-goodness-real-life-sentence.

Why Do barbarians always have to come from the north? Why aren't there more subtropical barbarians in fantasy?

Because the fur loincloths are too itchy in the heat.

I guess all those horned helmets are impractical in dense foliage.

See what you are doing to us by denying us an article FFG?

We have descended to depths of having a serious discussion about the practicality of the tropical loincloth.

It's a nod to roman history

Also base 12 is supreme!

The loincloth is just a suboptimal codpiece. In the heat, its too itchy, in the cold, too drafty.

Thats why the civilized comqueror invests in silk boxers with a cashmere crotch. Not only are they comfortable, but they remove the need for camp followers.

Oh, you see, I have a unique perspective on things...

You see, I grew up in Australia....

So when I turn around and tell you - You People Are Downright Uncivilised..........

... You should listen as to what is being Implied.....

... they remove the need for camp followers.

What's the point of even BEING a barbarian with no camp followers!

You don't expect them to *edit* (censorship) and pillage every single day do you? What do you expect them to do on their days off without camp followers?

Worlds recap article. Armada had the least number of attendees =( On the plus side, I think that's the first time they've announced the dates for the next Worlds: 3-7 May.

What I got from that is you are unfamiliar with what civilzation looks like and we can disregard your ramblings in this area.

Just wait... Global Warming, my friend... Global Warming. Soon, the Arachnapocalypse will rise from the depths of the Arctic Ice, and I will laugh... LAUGH

Given the Days we were given, not a surprise.

Things'll pick up for May Track, with any hope.

The other part of it is the Commitment...

Armada, as a game to game, is a bigger commitment than the other games in the series... It has the Playtime, it has the area, it has the rules, to justify all of that...

Its not a quick flash-pan game of guessing maneuvers constantly and endlessly, hoping to out-guess your opponent... You can't elect to stall or run away for any length of time to turn things around if things go wrong...

You must Prepare. You must Plan.

It relies on no luck of the Draw. Your plan must be on you, and not what cards you just happen to have stashed away in some random order.

You must Prepare. You must Plan. You must Execute. You must be Bold.

Your Enemy has every option you have available to them, and they should be doing the same... You have very limited game tickover - 6 turns - to have your plan come together, unfold, be turned inside out by your opponent, and then bring it back... And you have do so without executing phyrric victories, because they cost you overall.

You must Prepare. You must Plan. You must Execute. You must be Bold. You must Preserve. You must Prevail.

Where's the article?

Also, I just read the Store Championship article again, and they said they're adding in two copies of the Worlds alt art card for the "Worlds Celebration" thing that stores can host while worlds is going on. Thats pretty neat.

I'm stilll lol'ing at Arachnopacalypse

Looks like JJ's surname broke their world champion list formatting.

Better his than Mine.

I mean, half of the reasons why I enter competitions are to hear announcers attempt to pronounce it :D

(We've established, so far, that only 40 odd people in the world have it, its 9 letters long, and does not contain a Vowel)....

We should also see an Armada specific recap. It is known.

Why?

Because I know the TO at worlds specifically was tracking the number of times Demolisher was destroyed during the weekend, and he said he was going to make a nice graphic of it....

Weird a game that is generally backseated had the lowest attendance. Also I thought they sold out of their armada slots. So was the just less sign up space, due to higher required physical space?
