Awoken is such a funny word...

Would an Armada playmat cost a $100 or less?

Sure hope so... 2 3x3's retails at what? $80USD

The 3x3 X-Wing mats are $50ish USD, right? I can only guess a 3x6 mat of the same thickness and material would be about the same, maybe a bit more due to being larger or even a bit less since it's the same width and would only need to roll off the printer an extra 3'. Who knows.

Local game stores sell them for much less, as they have difficulty getting them out the door. The biggest game store here has to practically give them away. (They aren't ordering any more).

yes!

Please tell me that means some more articles incoming???

It certainly reinforces the possibility, rather than not.

On what timeframe, I cannot say.

So crazy speculation here, but what if that in store date of the 11th actually is true... did FFG upgrade to hyperdrive boats maybe?

November 11?

It would have to have a relatavistic drive... Because even if it arrived at the FFG headquarters today, they would not have enough time to have them shipped out to Distributors by the 11th....

Wasn't someone saying that their store was saying arrival date of November 11th? or was it the 21st?

They are a hit locally with the XWMG guys. Mostly for the artwork.

I get that the artwork is great, but the surface material is terrible. I wouldn't buy one for $10 until they change surfaces. We use extra wide yoga mats.

Maybe they're releasing the week of or before Rogue One? So December 11th release date?

This increases the chance of limited stock at worlds

More like they opted to use a catapult to launch product to each store.

Kinda confirms for me that they were waiting to release cc until wave 5 was ready.

So tenative trade if the first week of Jan.... That is if historical trends hold true.

Can't imagine they would put them in stores JUST IN TIME for people to be in the post Christmas consumer lull. That seems like it would be a disaster.

Well, let's be honest. Armada players will buy those ships anyway, doesn't matter if they hit shelves November, December or January. And this is not a game which can be picked up random customer, so it doesn't have to there for Christmas. I'm sure there are more important releases. From certain point of view.

I'm on the other side of it....

Because you see, Calgary Regionals are the 7th of January... Which means if they are released before Christmas Day, then they will be Legal for Regionals...

Which will mean I will be going out Day of Release, dragging a Toddler, potentially through the Snow, on a minimum 2 hour trip across town to get everything in my grubby mitts... Multiples of them... (Assuming I get some commissions before now and then)...

If they're released Christmas Day or After... I might not get them at all. For a decent length of time... I mean, I still havn't bought a Gozanti yet, or a second GR75, despite how much I think Slicer tools would be awesome, there's no drive for me to go out and get it...

... Potentially getting a leg up at Regionals through Familiarity? Totally legit reason...

"From a certain point of view?"

I've seen that movie - it really means: "I'm trying not to tell you that your father is alive, despite my attempts to leave him to die rather painfully."

The question doesn't depend on the volition of the Armada player, but the other people in their lives who think they can do her/him a favor by getting that expansion on their behalf as a gift. The threat/promise is that those people will overbuy what the recipient actually needs (because the recipient already bought it for themselves.

But I do agree with you. The game is so specific that it is difficult for a gift-giver to do a good job choosing a good gift to buy, that they're better off choosing something different, and thus the primary market is the principal, rather than the gift-giver.

...dragging a Toddler, potentially through the Snow...

Stuff him/her inside a tauntaun corpse. Great for character-building.

well with the average crossing taking 26-days and, shipping taking about a week the December 11th time-frame seems about right.

Man i'm in a predicament now that the new waves are coming out this year. Such a first world issue. Do I go for more Armada or Star Trek models?...money has finally brought the two franchises I love into conflict.

Which makes me think I would love to see FFG basically redo Attack Wing with their own version. Star Trek ships with the quality of FFG models sounds amazing!

Better yet, FFG should just release Star Trek ships as additional factions for Armada. They're running out of Star Wars ships anyways. Imagine the howls of joy across the world as geeks everywhere settle the debate of "which ship would win....Enterprise vs ISD?"

Though clearly the answer would be "Space Battleship Yamato".

I don't know....

How many Veritechs do I get with my Super Dimension Fortress Macross ?
