The Payne Train
A tactical game of miniature railroad combat.
"You're gonna love this railroading!" ~ FFG, probably
Way to derail the thread we got going here.
You take that back!
FFG Payne class trains are built by outsourced manufacturers to the highest quality resin plastics available! We've announced the game and won't provide news on it for another year so it's not possible for a derailment with one of our trains. They haven't even left the station!
Sorry, Correction.
Novella.

Is there multitrack drifting?
/sigh
I come from a gaming background, and I'm not used to the abysmal level of communication shown here. When devs have delays or unforeseen events that set back their schedule, they're usually pretty honest about, be it bug-fixing or adding more features.
Hell, I backed Cthulhu Wars, an amazing boardgame, and even there the designers are honest about their delays and what caused them. Sure, it's a kickstarter, but it's just common decency when you have fans with expectations. They thought the new faction would come out around october, they add someone from the company tell the backers it would go around February instead.
Imp assault boba fett and edge of the empire still to go, then it should be all us!
How about we go for 100 pages of malcontent until then

I second this, let our rabble be heard!

100 is nothing. Let's aim for 200!!!
Wave 5 looks great. Both Phoenix Home and the Arquitens looks to be awesome additions. And the new squadrons should really freshen up the game.
That said, it's the CC that has me the most exited.
It has 3 things that's awesome:
- the campaign itself: we're already planning teams and talking tactics
- the new squads: should really liven things up; we're all **** tired of the same old squads
- the new tournament applicable objectives: save the best for last - the current objectives are STALE, I either don't see them at all, or have played them sooo many times (one more DT and I'll puke)

Easy there, two weeks ago we were excited about surpassing the SSD. One step at a time.
Armada CC/W5 products are now the "oldest" products still at the printer (along with some reprints and an XCom game).
Yay!

There's a lot of time left, so I think 200 is realistic ![]()
It only took us little under 2 months to hit 96 pages. We have another 2 months of the year.

::in stuffy English accent::
Armada products are well aged.

I'm still waiting for my wave two rewards for the Robotech kickstarter I backed... three years ago now.
I'm quite alright with things just slowly ticking along.
Of course, once we have our Wave 5 and CC articles, then there's no need for this thread to die, or be 'complete'... We can go right into Wave 6 predictions, after all... As long as they're seriously considered...
... The people who have lists going all the way out to Wave 10 just make me shake my head... I mean, kudos for thinking that far ahead, but I highly doubt even FFG does more than 2 Waves at a time, with an 18 month leadout for both... Plus, they're generally full of EU stuff and don't even attempt to account for anything new in the star Wars lineup... So If we go back into predictions, I'd rather just try to guess the single next wave...
But hey, personal preference.
Wave 6:
Rebels
Hammerhead Corvette
Imperials:
Either the Carrion Spike class of ship or a Carrack -class light cruiser (it's now canon in multiple books!)
First Neutral Ship:
Quasar Class Carrier (People keep saying they're going to give this to the rebels but in the current lore it is an Imperial class of ship. The best solution is make a ship that can be used by both sides.)
Edited by ForrestoI haven't been keeping up with new canon as much as others: is the dreadnaught re-canonized yet?

Here's the other side of the speculations.... Its all well and good to pick things that look awesome, but the question will be - without coming up with a brand new game defining mechanic or upgrade slot, what will these things bring to the game to warrant their inclusion...
I mean, for example - the Carrack. We've already got the Gladiator in the close range boat. We've got the Raider as the Anti-Fighter Platform. We're going to have the Arquitens as a long range light platform... What do you think the Carrack will bring that won't simply make one (or more) of those things irrelevant?
(And not picking, genuinely interested).
I mean, for example - we've had some people point out that the hammerheads could work effectively as a dedicatedly combat flotilla... Small, light, bit of hitting power, but lacking the tactical flexibility we get with current Flotillas (and the unique upgrade slot!)
CONFLICT SQUADRONS!

Now we know how Snipe works which is cool.
And I've already had my first PM'd Rules Questions, on Snipe, Howlrunner and Flight controllers....
So I typed it up.
But I'm pretty sure its going to be lost in the "AWESOME!" part of that Thread ![]()
