Cause I'm not a min maxer and don't need more than two. Especially with the two packs coming.

I bought an r&v off eBay for 12 just fit the imp stuff. It was cheaper to bet the whole thing than buy the imps individually.

Every time I use more than 1 or 2 of the R&V ships, I get a little freaked out. I know that some are very good, but I just can't use them that way. 4 YT just don't look right when you could have squads.

Yep...hence my aesthetic rather than game play critique.

EDIT: Came off as snarky, but didn't mean to. I too have seen 8 of them destroy things.

8 YTs is too omnipresent in the current meta, imo.

Feel the same way. I consciously avoid these for non-tournament play. I used them once as a test and was like zomg these little pirhanas are freaking dynamite!

I've never seen more than 6 in one place and one itme in Real Life.

Y'see, if everyone had to pay Retail - and specifically, Canadian Retail - These things would never happen.;

I've never been a power gamer in anything, hell I played salamanders in 40k. O what your not a swarm army with low AS, crap!

The closest I've gotten is a combo of Tycho and 3 A Wings + Dash and 3 YT2400s. yeah, aesthetically it looks weird having a bunch of YT2400s out there, but I sure would like to run 8 of them once and see the subsequent feeding frenzy. I just can't justify the expense.

I played against a 8-9 Gozanti fleet with a ton of fighters and Tarkin. Spam from hell, visually intimidating, but I beat it. Twice

I played a match that was my 8 yt2400 vs another guys 7. We hit the time limit so fast (time paradox pun!)

Thankfully, as the meta gets more squadron heavy, the power of 8x YT-2400s is weakening. Commanded squadrons will always be better than YT-2400s. An even number of X-Wings can usually take them if backed up with Jan. I've had good success with 6x A-Wings backed by flight controllers. They typically get two YTs before they get to attack, then counter does its magic. Adding Toryn Farr to that mix is icing on the cake. The A-Wings obviously get mauled in the process, but the point is to throw less points at the YTs and come up higher on the exchange. It also frees up the 4x H6s that can usually make their bombing runs unimpeded.

Imperials have it even easier if they want. Dengar+Howl+Mauler+TIEs all backed up by flight controllers just shreds things for pretty cheap. Add Fel to the mix for hilarity.

Or Imperials can just use the Unholy Trinity and its hanger-on of Vader, Fel, Mauler, and Dengar for for Auto-damage shenanigans.
