Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout.

*pant*... okay, I made it through the thread.

I'm here now.

So not to further fuel this fire, but a lot of game store distributors are currently taking preorders for wave 5 products and Corellian Conflict but nobody yet has any solid idea what any of it does. Womp :(.

If you don't buy an Armada product without knowing what's in it, then I'll...

...find your lack of faith disturbing.

My mild amusement/annoyance is slowly being replaced with...more negative feelings.

Annoyance is the path to the dark side. Annoyance leads to displeasure. Displeasure leads to irritation. Irritation leads to irascibility. Irascibility leads to indignation. Indignation leads to an urge to blow someone's planet up, or to genocide a bunch of younglings.

Are you ready to join the Empire yet?

Okay, got those quasi-quote responses out of the way. Now I guess I can toss in my 2 cents (1 cent after rebate).

Actually, not even 1 cent's worth, cuz I've got nothing, really. I went to Target last night to see what they had for Force Friday. It wasn't all that spectacular, though there was a largish AT-ACT display which was kind of fun, but the line of merchandise was a little 'meh'. One would have hoped for a Force Friday article from FFG about Armada - especially one about the Corellian Campaign. I'm really interested in what their campaign mechanics are going to be like.

But... Monday?

The idea that FFG would have absolutely nothing, not even an article, for any Star Wars games on Force Friday is absolutely mind boggling to me.

Makes two years in a row...

Mik I know your knew to this thread so I guess if you want to want to have any hope for Monday after they just bombed force Friday go ahead.

The ACTUAL negative feelings are getting a little ridiculous. I am right with all of you, I want to see some articles, I am chomping at the bit to get some information and theorycraft some lists.

But, we've had the best year this game has had. Wave 4 hits early to coincide with Wave 3, and we got a surprise wave ninjaed in this year. I was honestly hopeful we might see some new stuff in Q1 of 2017, so when they announced it would be even earlier, I was overjoyed. Not to mention the campaign system that is coming as well, possibly released jointly with Wave 5, or maybe coming earlier.

I can more understand the Wave Thor delay disappointment. The product delay was beyond FFG's control and they did they could to get the stuff we love to us earlier than we hoped, and now even more fun, new stuff. There has been zero indication that Wave 5/CC has been delayed, other than the lack of articles, which could be due to a myriad of reasons, and now people are complaining louder than ever.

Will I be disappointed if for whatever reason Wave 5/CC are pushed back to Q1 of 2017? Hell yes, that would make me pretty bummed. But then I would realize it's just releasing when I originally hoped it might, and get over it. Until there is actual indication that this stuff is delayed (and the fact that stores are allowing preorders indicates that it is on time) maybe we shouldn't be so sour and enjoy what we have.

Come on we both know wave 3/4 was one wave.

Of course it was, that doesn't change the fact that it looked like it was going to hit the stores at separate times and then FFG was able to pull it back to release at the same time.

The idea that FFG would have absolutely nothing, not even an article, for any Star Wars games on Force Friday is absolutely mind boggling to me.

I guess we are ignoring that RPG article?

That was Thursday.

Makes two years in a row...

Last year they released an all new core set. This year they have several new X-Wing ships based on the new film and new a armada stuff from Rebels, which is also being put into stores this weekend.

There should have been something.

I think there are two threads going here. One is the people salty over no preview articles, which, while those would be nice, are hardly worth being upset over imo.

The other thread is the FAQ, which, personally, I do feel a certain amount of entitlement to. Obviously in the context of life at large this is pretty piddly, but we're not here to talk the philosophy of life, we're here to talk about the game. And in the context of the game, not releasing an FAQ after almost two months is a pretty big deal.

Don't forget the third: where we distract each other with off-topic things so as to not remind each other that we're (slightly) salty

I'm more mocking the anger than actually angry.

If I was to complain about something, it would be the early surprise of CC/Wave 5. Seems a bit bummery (it's a word now damnit!) that they'd spoil it so early and have no info on it much like wave 2 did.

But honestly, that's just grasping at straws to be angry.

Based on the "anticipated usual" of 8 Weeks on the Boat, we are definitely fast approaching the point where FFG will miss Christmas with these...

...

and its not just Wave 5 and CC...

its also Star Wars: Destiny.

Now, I'm fairly amateur when it comes to the business side of things, but a new collectable game not being out for Christmas seems like a big freakin' deal to me...

AND I have to correct myself.

Destiny is now ON THE BOAT.

It says updated on the 29th, but I've checked the last 2 days,a nd it only physically updated now.

So they'll make Christmas for THAT at least.

Yay -_-

So....

What if their intent has always been to release these products at Christmas time, but they are always thwarted by the snafus of intercontinental logistics?

Not sure which is worse--folly or incompetence.

Note, I'm not saying they are necessarily one or the other, just that the question you raise seems kind of predicated on one vs the other.

Won't somebody PLEASE think of the younglings!? :D

We know that even Wave 4 had serious production problems both on quality and quantity side. It seems that whatever production capacity FFG has, they can't cope with the demands. So they have to postpone some new releases and as Armada is one of ther more xomplex and hence less widespread and on high demand games, they push Armada releases back - maybe even beyond Christmas....

Corellian Conflict cannot be that difficult to produce. It's just cardboard.

It's not a matter of WHETHER to preorder but rather HOW MUCH, and without any preview articles yet it's a big ol' question mark.

3 Arquitens (Cheap ship to bulster the imperial options for workhorse ship)

2 Phoenix One (Obscene ship, but unlikely to be the punch of a fleet)

2 of each squad pack (Always 2 of each squad pack, its a rule of thumb!)

easy!

Blimey this is going to be an expensive wave.

Yeah... no. Obviously one of everything is an easy buy, but until I know what they actually DO, any numbers past that are pure conjecture.

At the moment, I have 2 Conflicts on pre-order.

But not a single Wave 5.

I won't be able to order anything of Wave 5 until I get some more Commissions...

But at least there;s Squadron packs. I do forsee having a lot of Ghost to paint, and cloaking Phantoms....
