Can’t wait for the Armada Dial Pack. If there is anything that I need extras of, it’s command and speed dials.

Cog'o'two in the UK make acrylic versions of both, along with all their other acrylic goodies.

I predict an article by next friday acknowledging the existance of new expansions and little else.

Sadly this is probably all that will happen.

If it comes with a damage deck I'd buy it.

Could this be wave 9?

My predictions follow:

FFGSWM34 Galactic Republic Fleet Expansion Pack: Star Wars Armada
FFGSWM35 Separatist Alliance Fleet Expansion Pack: Star Wars Armada
FFGSWM36 Republic Fighter Squadrons Expansion Pack: Star Wars Armada
FFGSWM37 Separatist Fighter Squadrons Expansion Pack: Star Wars Armada
FFGSWM38 Armada Upgrade Card Collection: Star Wars Armada
FFGSWM39 Armada Dial Pack: Star Wars Armada

Hmm, interesting - will the "Fleet Expansion" packs include more than one ship in a box for it's faction?

The Dial pack is interesting. So far all expansions (other than Chimaera and Rebellion in the Rim) come with enough dials to run them fully. If they are adding a dial pack that implies some of the new expansions won't have enough dials for ships. Which seems an odd choice. Even if the expansions are card only, you'd still need the ship models and bases from somewhere, so have the dials from that. Unless Republic/Separatist versions of existing ships need more command dials than their Empire/Rebel counterparts.

Anyway. I wonder if SWM34 and SWM35 will be similar to X-Wing's Guardians of the Republic and Servants of Strife packs. When Clone Wars came to X-Wing they didn't produce a new Core Set (that hadn't worked too well with Sequel Trilogy stuff), but they started with 3-ship packs for both new factions. I wonder if we will see the same; maybe 2 small + 1 medium ships in the Fleet Expansions, perhaps only 2 ships, perhaps with cardboard to convert existing ships to Clone Wars factions. Something nearly Core Set priced, but faction-specific and without the dice, maneuver tool, damage deck, obstacles etc. (which makes me wonder if all three Core Set ships will be playable in Clone Wars; VSD and CR90 for Republic, maybe Neb-B for Separatists?).

Also... I see we're still missing SWM28.

Same here, but it didn’t sound like Essentials Pack.

Don't forget that the Pelta and Arquintens were Republic ships too. I am curious to see if we get Chimaera style repaints for the republic, or an X-wing style conversion kit.

I wonder if the dials pack will be just dials with different art on them. Didn't X wing do something like this, with fancy tools for the different factions?

I wonder if new players will be required to buy the original core set for the tools and damage deck or if these would be included with the expansions.

Hoping there's a CW Core Set to get new players rolling soonest (plus I'd love to get one for themed tools and a Damage deck), but if they don't drop a Core, they better put out a set with a Deck, dice, rulers. It'd be MORONIC not to if they're not doing a CW Core.

"Card Collection" might include a damage deck, as they are cards. Maybe there will be obstacles in the Fleet Expansions (they included new obstacles in the X-Wing equivalents).

Part of me thinks it isn't worth speculating yet, but where's the fun in that?

Talking of which, if we're getting Fleet Expansions rather than individual Ship expansions, maybe they will include more than one commander per faction?

If they are using the Runewars model, whatever is in the fleet pack will get its own blister later. So maybe just one admiral in the fleet pack

Honestly if there was a new core I'd pre-order it now, and try to start to reform a local community (it's dead here). However I guess ill just be trying to keep my ear to the ground. Just hoping the needed components are available in the new stuff. I really want in but I guess it's wait and see

Does anyone think the dials pack is being made available because Armada will be introducing new Commands?

If so, what do you think they could be?

It’s a new objective to replace HyperSpace Assault. Starting on Turn 2, you can place your ship at distance one of a token. Remove that token. in between later turns you can remove the ship from play and put it next to a remaining token. If you try this, roll A die. On a crit your ship explodes.

Or one in a million dials has a Holdo Maneuver command...

It's like finding a golden ticket!

You know I can imagine the Munificent with an ignition art for it's prow cannons.

So, it has come to this. The time is upon us.

Did FFG sack their article writers?

Did they ever have any at all? Or did random people off the streets get dragged into their office and made to write some gibberish?

I believe the announcement article is ready.

Someone either didn't get approval to post it / cleared by higher ups or they're planning on releasing an updated FAQ alongside the announcement to hold us over until the release, which might still have some bugs.
