In the spirit of this thread I predict that we will get SSD article this year. Or next year at most.

I have actually almost gather money for preorder (by selling parts of my old WFB collection) but I kind of hesitate to spend it, cause no articles!

I'm waiting to sell my motorcycle. I've had two buyers back out due to money issues since the spring. I'm pretty sure I'm going to just take it to a dealer and see what they'll give me for it as the weather turns into whatever this sad excuse for fall is here on the east coast.

Then I'll have my money for the SSD.

I'm torn. I no longer have appropriate storage for it. So best I can do it cover it and let it ride out the winter. The only bad news is then I'd be paying another year for insurance and another registration renewal (admittantly not all that much to do it).

I have trouble imagining the price difference between now and spring justifies renewal/insurance plus the headache of hanging onto it.

You're in PA, right? Do they force you to insure/register your motorcycle if it's not being ridden/inoperative?

My motorcycle is also not going to be ridden for a while, and its registration has lapsed. (The insurance was automatically renewed, dammit.) I'm just going to let it sit in the garage. Of course, a difference is that it's in the garage.

Anyway, that's not about Armada. So....

We don’t say that anymore- it was a good inside joke, but with new outsiders everyday, it was causing more harm than good.

I’ll take a stab at it - I’ve recruited 5 brand new players in the last 18 months, just from getting out ships and showing people how fun it is, and two were people who HATED x-wing and took some convincing to even look at another FFG Star Wars miniatures game because of the experience - We had a particularly poor first local tournament.

It’s not dead in my circle of friends. In my experience, the best way to play has been to let players pick the coolest looking ship and then introducing them to the points limits and let them round out to 300 with ships and squadrons, then I run a naked flotilla of smaller ships which offer easy kills but also let me outflank them and show them how important maneovers can be, every game so far has ended (as I hoped) with the new player having a narrow victory, then after the first battle ask them what they wished their ships did better, then I introduce relevant upgrades and then they are pretty much hooked once they see all the possible options and want to experiment. Haven’t had any issues with this approach.

That makes it harder. Probably better to get the money now, rather than risk a winter, with nothing to protect it, but a tarp.

To register it, you need insurance. So I can skip insurance until I need to register in February (yeah, I was deal hunting when I bought it new). I don't know the absolute legality.
