I totally agree. And as compared to Armada, I wouldnt oppose clone and droid armies.

I also am a little annoyed about the lack of Imperial Assault/Legion overlappability. Not that I have IA, but I have a friend who has a ton of it, and I had been playing in his campaign (as the Empire, of course). I just feel that with Legion, FFG is stepping onto the GW-side of the Force, and once it does so, forever will it dominate its destiny (ie. reputation).
This is one of the reasons I skipped Legion. If the models would have been the same as IA I would have taken the plunge, at least to change up some of my IA units. And I think they could have had a large section that would mix and match minis for the two games, but alas they went a different direction.
Similar to the way we had to wait for IA news until after Legion was launched so that the general public 'didn't get confused', my guess is that it will be the same for Armada and XW 2.0.
Wait till XW 2.0 is released, wait a couple of weeks and then we'll 'suddenly' hear about the 'big thing' in Armada.

I am loving legion, this release schedule is keeping me game so fresh. They’re pumping releases out monthly. It’s a lot harder to get bored with a game when it gets so much new content.

It's also necessary because of the style of game. I could play Wave 2 Armada for a lot, lot longer without getting bored than I could play just the currently released Legion expansions - there's a lot more customization in Armada's list building, per-fleet and per-unit, than in Legion.
If Armada had a "you must have a large or medium base ship as your flagship" rule, you would need a lot more ships released to get the same variety. It's that sort of thing.

At first I thought you were making a joke that they were going to run out of options so quickly that "The Senate" would be a unit/faction at some point in the game and it made me smile really widely. I then realized you were talking about "the Senator" but still, I do wish that were a real release, I'm comfortable with it being the US senate or The Republics.

I would LOVE to see droids make their way to armada. I don't want the republic just because those troops already exist as stormtroopers...

Theyre pre releasing it, and having an event. However, the ACTUAL release of 2.0 is in September - you can’t do release hype pre release ?
All we expect from a GenCon announce is something popping in the case one day, and an associated article online.
