I mean, this DID give us something to talk about. So, it's good, even if a percentage of people want to go flip a virtual car and light it on fire. Right?

Eh?

... Why the **** isn't one square just called "The Raddusson", freeing up another square?

I think "The Raddusson" is the location the Armada Games are taking place...

Note that squids are still on the board.

This is the best I could do while in a "HyperSpace Report" induced rage. :)

Just popping in to give you guys a quick cross-forum update.

There's already a number of complaint threads about X-Wing 2.0 over in their forum.

They got the whole report for themselves and they still seem to think everything sucks..

Swap it for BRAvenger or Sloane.

Spoiled little brats

I honestly kinda get why people would be upset. In order to even be able to play in a tournament setting, is basically be required to buy in even more than the power creep had already mandated.

Thatbeing said, I think the method of upgrading to second edition is the best one they could've hoped for and I think FFG has done a great job and will do a great job with it - partially because it's exactly what I would've done.

Now if I'd only they'd throw us a bone other than "hurry up and wait..."

I actually sort of get it too. if you have bought into every item that FFG has released for xwing you're looking at a min of 300 to upgrade to second edition. that's 50 per faction, which it's a HORRIBLE idea to split imperial/FO and NR/RA. I really wanted a second edition for that game to consider going back and I won't lie and say I'm not considering it but I would only go back for my imperial ships I'm a fan of, no way I'd even consider running another faction. even with that consideration I'm looking at 100 to 150 to get into the game. /shrug maybe, I will probably just buy the core set and see what I think from there.

Edit: Know what would have been great, a discount based on how many proof of purchases you already own. Give us a reason to have kept them(I kept all of mine) while rewarding people that bought into the game.

I dig the faction split. It sets the precedent for Armada, too, which I think would benefit us quite well.

The PoP is actually not a bad idea.

Really, I think the best thing they did was remove point value from the card. I think it's a great use of modern technology. I might actually borrow this for my own projects.

Hmmm. Didn't really think about that.

OTOH, Armada is already glurging things together - no distinct 'Scum' faction, with those ships split up between the two factions we have.

Of course, what the X-Wing 2nd edition changes enable creates some new possibilities for that game - and we know how FFG likes to re-use art. So...possible some Armada implications there...

On the bright side, FFG implemented everything I've listed as wanting for a competitive miniatures game. On the down side, it's for a game I have no desire to play.

Is it any wonder that players are grumpy. The only ones that have any information are going to be under a NDA to not say anything.

Armada 2.0 hype train loading platform here ---->

(Estimated arrival May 2023)

Personally if there would be an Armada 2.0 I eould probably quit. I'm quite satisfied how the game works right now and I'm not interested in sprnding 300 bucks only to be able to go to store tournaments.

Armada 2.0 would be interesting, but way too expensive (would there be 4 copies of each ship in an upgrade box?). I absolutely do not want to see added faction split, if I have to play clones to fly Arquitens I would be saltier than krait.

But the GAR is so cool...

In all seriousness, it would be crazy for them to make every ship single-faction. I wouldn’t worry about them removing the Arquitens as an Imperial ship, rather than just adding it as an option for the Republic.

Nooooo. Why is that beneficial? Why have cards at all if you need an app? Why stop at points value?
