Is nobody mentioning that there's a new article up?

I like that Hammerhead going its own way. It’s a strong independent Corvette that don’t need no Cruiser.

Avenger on a Kuat? Eh, Relentless is probably better, but I guess Avenger does get some usefulness...

Eh, Relentless is just another form of error repair... ?

Btw, in the Vader's Revenge image, there's a TIE Defender squadron standing in for Ciena Ree, who leads a TIE Interceptor squadron.

There are other screw ups too.

Sloppy.

Don't forget the two Blounts.

Man... some sloppy editing in the FFG Worlds article. Good thing they have me to fix it for them!

"For the fans of Star Wars™: Armada, the 2018 May World Championships aren't just another engagement—they're the climactic finale of a year-long campaign!

Ever since the 2017 May World Championships FAQ release, players all across the globe have been tinkering with their strategies, tactics, and fleet designs throwing their pre-FAQ lists in the trash. They've taken their fleets to battle, analyzed the tactics that have worked and those that left them vulnerable and realized that Raddus is dumb. They've promoted some officers and jettisoned others. They've recruited new squadron leaders and even new commanders Raddus. They've explored the advantages offered by newer ships and weighed those advantages against the benefits of tried and proven synergies, unless you played Rieekan Aces, in which case sorry not sorry.

For a full year 20 days, these players—these fleet admirals—have gone to battle and learned from their engagements. And soon the best of them will arrive at the Fantasy Flight Games Center in Roseville, MN to face all challengers.

Will they rely on the positional advantages afforded by multiple activations? Will they fly balanced lists that allow them to pursue as many points as possible from objectives? Will they lean on their squadrons, expecting them to chew through enemy shields over time? Or is Nope! This the year we'll see the game's largest ships explode get Raddus dropped onto the top tables, obliterating all that stand in their way?!

To answer these questions, we called upon 2017 World Champion Norm Weir to provide us with his best analysis of the upcoming battles."

I feel like Raddus will be over represented as he is really easy to use the the FAQ left little time for people to tweak fleets.

Lol man, that's some saltiness going on there. I don't "disagree" that raddis is powerful but "maybe" you're being a little bitter there.

I literally almost put an asterisk at the end with an "internet trigger warning: heavy sarcasm has been used here" but decided it was thick enough even the internet wouldnt truly take it seriously.

I do not kill with my Raddus. He who kills with his Raddus has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my Hera.

Isn't worlds for Armada at a hotel or something? I mean, that seems like a glaring omission if you want to lay on the sarcasm.:lol:

Did you wreck my dual Vader build or did FFG force you to feature the chimera?

I took great personal pleasure in wrecking it. Did I do alright?

Wave 8 announcement today.

The stage is set. The timing is appropriate. The wind blows in from the east.
It's not my fault if it's Scout Troopers for Legion instead.

Wouldn't they wait for May 1st? FFG is pushing people to turn on email notifications again so they are in the loop.

Might, might not. It wouldn't be shocking to announce a product the Friday before and then show it off (models, etc) day-of, but naturally yeah if it's quiet today than that would be the most likely explanation. Especially if it's a two-part wave, either because the relentless chanting of "SSD! SSD!" has become faintly audible or just because of a new campaign box or core set or squadrons or four total ships or whatever.

Quoting the most recent article on the topic:

Quote

Featuring a panel of Fantasy Flight Games developers and hosted by Justin Bolger from StarWars.com, the Hyperspace Report will lead attendees through a Q&A style presentation about Fantasy Flight Games's upcoming Star Wars products and release schedule!

Finally, we'll follow up Tuesday's panel with a more in-depth look at some of these upcoming products on Wednesday's stream. While the World Championships are rolling through their first legs and building up toward the action of the first elimination rounds, we'll offer coverage of our upcoming products, including game demonstrations and staff challenges that let you see these products in action.

So, it might be the idea to have the product already announced, in whole or in part, and then explored more fully on the stream.

Just to get it out their as a possible ship. The Droid Control Ship is now canon as part of the Rebel Fleet. It's under the command of Hera Syndula in the Dr. Aphra series.

That version in the comic could really add some interesting mechanics I think. Even though I really haven't enjoyed this story arc as much, it would be neat to see Commander Syndula come with it.

Runewars got an article.

They also got everything else they are waiting for in the boat, so... officially mattervof time for them.

Meanwhile, we fiddle.... or twiddle... whichever is more or less appropriate.

Destiny article...looks like we will be waiting until the hyperspace report for anything.
