Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout.

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

And my hope is dashed by a legion article, however, svelok your powers of prediction are astounding !

It's been two weeks since the last Legion preview, and four weeks since the one before that.

So, my powers of prediction tell me there will be a preview of combat in Legion today.

good guess

I shouldn't read the Legion previews. The game looks great!

Hopefully having to paint everything and the scenography requirement to make the game experience worth it will keep me away from it... maybe...

As much as I may like the game and it’s mechanics, I know I just won’t be able to find the time to both paint the figures and use them. So I’ll stick to armada ?

I predict an article this week. Gonna go with Friday. Just feeling lucky for some reason.

This would be awesome.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

I’m still in for one or two more waves of armada. I intend to try to make an armada/legion campaign. (I sold all of my x-wing to pay for legion so it doesn’t interfere with my armada allowance.)

I had first intended to get into armada now and then legion in a year or so. But due to unforseen circumstances namely amazon not being able to ship me the core set to the middle east as well as some of the basic stuff I need like the dice pack and the squadrons I packs being either overpriced or unavailable ive decided to just get legion instead. Wow that was a long post.

I’m hopeful that legion will be the ground version of armada but those are big shoes to fill.

There are plenty of other mechanisms besides amazon to obtain Armada. My FLGS doesn't seem to have issues.

Depending on what kind of game attributes you're looking for you might be either disappointed or happy. Legion really is a different game, different tactics, different game play. I've no doubt that the rules will be tight as is typical FFG game-craftery in action. Both are certainly going to get plenty of FFG love and a community that'll be supportive.

Now that the ~4 month China government induced factory slow downs are past, hopefully all the plastic pew pew we could possibly want will be available soon.

Yeah, but how many of them deliver to the middle east?

If I may ask - why is legion going to be different? The core, if anything, is going to be the size of the Armada one...

of course, that doesn’t solve the expansion thing anyway - I’m just curious why there would be a differentiation.

Ooo ouch. Yeah amazon isn't even going to help you there. Depending on where in the middle east, logistics for everyone is difficult.

What is this about a factory slow down? I hadn't heard about this.

It's hard to say if Fantasy Flight was affected or not, while plausible that might explain a bunch of delays, I doubt we'll ever know. I do know other game companies (fire lock games makers of Blood and Plunder) were hit by it and said as much.

Seems to me to be a logical explanation. Thanks for the info.

I found an armada core set for about £75 but the shipping was £50 not worth it. I’ll just have to wait for when I go up in the summer to the UK but by then legion will have dropped and i cant get both.

I have found a flaw with Rogue 1.

I was listening to classsic fm's top 2017 (dont judge) and heard Last Jedi kick in, instant star warzy vibes. Then I heard Oil from Dunkirk, instantly recognisable and emotive of the beach. Something from Rogue 1, nothing, it meant nothing to me.

So I conclude that the soundtrack wasnt star warzy enough.

The poor guy had to write the score in a matter of weeks.

Not having a jab at you Ginkapo but (and don't worry about this but!) I wanted to comment on just how difficult it is to produce any Star Wars content nowadays/going forward.

There's a terribly fine line between content being "just a re-hash/re-do of Episode 'something'" and "damned...it felt nothing like Star Wars at all".

So hard!!! :(:(:(

Personally, I didn't mind the score to Rogue One. It seemed to fit and I especially noticed the - I don't know what the actual jargon for it is but when they 'blend/distort' the music when it switches from one scene to another. I remember them doing this in RotJ in between the Bunker Attack, Emperor's throne room, Space Battle scenes.

Gave me goosebumps. Hehe.

I like the score when Scarif is being death stared and they're on the beach.

The three articles I want to see from FFG:

New stuff coming to Armada

New stuff coming to Imperial Assault

Expansion for Fallout

What I'd like to see:

General article on MC75.

Details on ISD-pack.

Details on MC75.

Something Big.

Future waves.

The list goes on.

All Im interested to see is the MC75's maneuver chart so I can practice how it flies.

You forgot to state specifically that you want a new "tournament pack" with new objectives. Either that or the just as good new campaign with new objectives and ship titles.
