Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout.

Historically, doesn't the upcoming page change retrospectively?

But yes I begin to sadden.

Legion/holiday rush seems like the simplest and most plausible explanation. Maybe demand for Legion was higher than expected, or there was an issue and they had to reprint a bunch of stuff, or it took them longer to get Legion printing than expected which pushed stuff back...

Did X-Wing's TLJ wave get pushed forward to Q4, or did the other wave get pushed back to 2018? The article didn't actually specify.

thanks for keeping me people

I thought they'd used the term brought forward.

They Didn't thought, you're right.

Important Release Update!

X-Wing Wave XII (consisting of the Alpha-class Star Wing, the M12-L Kimogila Fighter, and the Phantom II) and Wave XIII (consisting of the Resistance Bomber and the TIE silencer) were originally announced as separate waves. Fortunately, we have been able to move our release dates to release all five ships simultaneously! You can pre-order all five ships by clicking on the products shown to the right.

However, in light of the fact that the first ones are on track for an earlier release still, I guess that was the intention.

Hey @PartyPotato have you seen the Runewars models in person by chance?

Yes, but I will admit that it was only the spearmen out of the box. So I haven't seen the full range.

I'll also admit that I am NOT a fan of heroic 28mm and that probably plays a big part in why I'm so critical of them. I feel that FFG isn't emphasizing the models for Runewars based on the product pages or the spotlight articles. The pictures are low res and almost impossible to get a feel of what the quality of the models actually are. Combined with their marketing models being painted at a basic gaming standard at best, it just doesn't get me jazzed for the game. Especially when they want $3-4 dollars per basic model. That's on par with Warhammer prices, but like you said yourself GW's primary focus it making gorgeous models, which begs the question what are you paying top dollar for?

You're paying for a game! At least that's my thought process with Legion. There are a lot of people in those forums who have no hope for the game because they consider it to be a hobby rather than a game. IMO if the rules are solid, I'm OK with subpar (if they are even that) minis.

I've also never been spoiled with GW minis, so I can only compare them to WotC Star Wars minis and Armada.

See that's where I am too. I'm playing primarily for the game and the models are secondary. I played WHFB back in the mid-90s and the models were beautiful but the game was somewhat underwhelming.

I will admit I'm underwhelmed by the game so far. At least what I've seen. There needs to be more breadth before I'm intrigued.

I can respect that.

I guess I'm just kind of baffled at why FFG is deviating from prepainted. AT-43 is a game that comes to mind that had models that were pretty good for prepainted, sadly it was just paired with a not so fun game mechanic.

@Undeadguy would you prefer prepainted or do you look forward to assembling and painting the models themselves?

I want to see pictures of the contents of the box. The unpainted, unassembled models would give me a better idea of the quality I think. Then again it might not because I too have never bought any GW minis, or any outside of Armada and X-Wing so might not be as good a judge as most. I do like what I've seen of the rules but need to know even more. I'm definitely in for the first wave and I think/hope we have good things ahead.

I'm excited for unpainted models. I've never played a game that does it so I'm not "tired" of painting minis. Well, except for Tie/F. I don't really care about painting them. I'm more excited to paint the vehicles.

X-Wings. For me it's X-Wings. Hate painting them.

I like that I can do a color scheme with them. If Tie/F aren't their correct color, they are wrong. Everything has to be uniform, at least within a few shades. I mix my own paints so it's not always exact.

That's so funny. I'm the exact opposite. My Tie's are all over the place. I enjoy painting the unique designs on Imperial squads so much more than I do with Rebels. I do paint my generics just boring grey and black but I go all out on my aces. For example (one of these days I'll learn to take decent pictures) Mauler has a fluorescent green body and wing interior and yellow and black radiation symbols on the outside wings. Ciena Ree has a pink and purple Interceptor. Morna's Black and lime green. Rudor flies a Mining Guild TIE. Then they all have alternates in case @ThatSlyBanditand I play a mirror match **** my Jonus alternate looks like a wood panel station wagon. My rebels however get solid black with red glass and that's it. I did paint most of the aces unique but @ThatSlyBanditflys them more than I do so he's painted a lot of my rebel squads. That being said I do like painting B-Wings and both YTs.

The majority of my squads are unpainted. I only paint what I bring to tournaments, so if it's not in the list, it's not getting painted. I'm also a slow painter and will take 4 hours to paint 2 squads haha

Ha that would be super fast for me. I've gotten to the point where the painting is a big part of Armada for me though. I have gotten to the point where I don't like putting unpainted squads on the table. Still have to do it some times if I play Rebels though. Now I do love painting Rebel ships theirs so much variety to them. I'm seriously considering a fourth Pelta and my third one was already solely acquired for painting purposes.

I'd get another Imp II pack because I love painting Decimators. I'm really happy how those turned out.

They are nice. It broke my heart to paint a couple of them in my standard gray black.

There are 8 weeks (and six days) left in 2017.

Wave VI spent around 9 weeks on the boat. We're not even officially printing yet.

If Wave VII spends 4 weeks at the printer, 4 weeks on the boat, and 2 weeks shipping, it'd just miss Q4.

If Wave VII spends 4 weeks at the printer, 6 weeks on the boat, and 2 weeks shipping; and it takes another week from now for it to even hit the printer; then we don't see it until February.

That would make the Hammerhead/Quasar the only release in all of 2017. I think I speak for all the other Rebel-only-and-disappointed-by-Hammerhead players out there (there are dozens of us!), when I sigh heavily at that prospect. And we don't even have Legion to distract us yet.

FFG, I love the game. I'm not angry; just disappointed. Please update Wave VII to "on the boat" today and make me look silly!

What's your issue with the hammerhead?

I am.

No articles, Obscene waits for FAQs, Missed deadlines, Bad event dates...

They have a genuinely good product with many interested and deeply invested players but the lack of support for this IP, despite it's continual success in sales, is down right insulting.

Is it really so hard to look through your e-mails and answer maybe 5 or 6 common questions? Maybe find a blogger in the community to write up a, "something something 101" article (like they do for their golden child x-wing) during the slow times between releases? Cross off any weekends within 5 days of a major national holiday for event choices? Hmmm? Am I asking too much, as one of the hundreds who've dumped literal thousands of dollars into this?

It's not gonna change, but I'mma stay mad.

As a detail: Reviewing our strange friend, the Ffg page for spain, both the chimaera and the profundity are "in production", which is their equivalent to be at the printer. They also have a Q4 release date.

Dunno if this means anything.

Nice catch. They don't have dates attached like the English version does, so can't say how long they've been in that status.

It'd be a pleasant surprise if FFG just forgot to push the button on the website.

FFG still hasn't answered the "Dear FFG..." email I sent them in January.

I think maybe I'll send it to them again on our one year anniversary just to remind them :)

So today is Halloween. Will we get a Trick or a Treat?

My guess would be Trick. I don’t think we will get our treats till the end of November.

Feel joy in you ur heart that you've never Warhammered before (very all free funds consuming). I remember many good and bad things about it in both flavors. I must say I always enjoyed painting and playing. But it should be noted not all of GW sculpts we're good looking...... Some were\are ugly as sin. And cost just as much as lunch for a month.
