Pah! Your IT department is insignificant compared to the power of the Dark Side. The Emperor's true servants - those who are rewarded with superior technology - acknowledge no such restrictions!

Says the people who put bandwitdh restrictions on the Hypernet...

... Even with a Kilometers tall dish, can't even send a data file to a nearby ship in a little bit of interference...

Have Thou never heard of a Plot Device? The fact that a lone rebel can get to the top of said dish and manually control it without any other way of shutting it down is also something you shouldn't think about too much.

Or an A-Wing crashing into the Bridge of an SSD... Have they never heard of a backup control center? Even the US Navy can control ships even with the loss of the main bridge. Lack of System redundancy and single points of failure are staples of Imperial Design it would seem.

If you are referring to that data interception by insurgent hackers during the unfortunate mining incident on Scarif, that was entirely the point! Are we to give all partisans access to the Emperor's personal vee pee en?

And you know what?

Bandwidth Restrictions are easily the single most evil thing that has ever been done by the Empire.

Second to None.

Doth protest too much... FFG has no requirement to be honest on that page. In fact it probably benefits them to be dishonest on that page. They have had Stealth products come out that never even appeared on that page so I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Hey look. An X-Wing FAQ.

Now they can stop spamming the Facebook posts about an FAQ and instead spam them about the new **** coming out. :/

Hey, you take little victories when you can.

... and then you play Armad a with them...

Pew! Pew! Pew!

I just peeked at that FAQ. Didn't read it all but...

Wowza.

Yeah and Destiny got a new FAQ yesterday so you know what that means don't you?.....

Imperial Assault is gonna get one too!

Well they got some stuff to nerf bat too.

I wouldn’t expect an Armada FAQ for some time yet.

What should you expect?

5 articles for Legion

I don't get it. You need to put together and paint the model, right? But the articles show the stands to be 'decorated' with grass, sand, debris and whatnot. How are they really? If they are drab and flat grey, how did they get the coverings? If they are custom, isn't that a bit deceptive?

I don't entirely disagree.

The game is supposed to be unpainted (and unassembled). That is only hinted at with the AT-RT for example, where it mentions the multiple gun attachments... But its only hinted.

I am disappointed that they don't specifically state that they are unassembled and unpainted in the marketing. I have to assume they do say so on the box in fine print...

... But the fact that they are not display boxes (like Armada) means they have something to hide.

Even IA showed its pieces unpainted. But Legion has fully assembled and painted pieces, even showing bits of scenery (like the boxes) in the photos.

I'm guessing you never played Warhammer or 40k.

Its just hard to prove wether its deliberately deceptive or just "marketing".

I mean, there are little hints, like this:

With the AT-ST Unit Expansion, you’ll find a single finely sculpted, massive AT-ST miniature, which can be assembled to loom over the battlefield and provide a rallying point for your entire army.

and

inviting you to assemble your AT-ST in a way that marries its physical appearance and its in-game abilities.

So, assembly is required there.

The Airspeeder IS explicit:

Along with the beautifully sculpted, unpainted miniature, you’ll find all the unit cards and upgrade cards that you need to make the T-47 airspeeder a crucial part of your battle for freedom.

That's not quite the same.

In all Warhammer Marketing, they are explicitly stated to be unpainted and unassembled, and their Box Art (rear) has often showed Component views, if not full breakdowns of old.

The question is here is if you are approaching Legion without knowing... Without being told, if your first interaction is with this online Marketing, you could make the assumption that they are Painted and Assembled and Ready to go without knowing...

Mini bait I suposse, if you are not informed and you see them... more units selled for asmodee

Runewars stuff is also fully painted/assembled in their articles.

Interestingly though, I need to go check to see if their marketing states in those articles that they are unpainted and unassembled...

One moment...

EDIT:

The most recent one didn't at all, and that was the full standalone Uthuk Army Box...

So it seems like FFG doesn't actually market with the statements, and instead, presumably leaves it to Box Fineprint to state.
