Wow, no posting in this thread since Friday? This forum must be about as dead as Armada.

We took a leaf from FFG's book.

You mad fools, don't you realize you were risking the creation of a 500 page, "Post Predictions in the Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout Thread.

That is only like 3 or 4 steps removed frpom a scenario that ends with Charlton Heston shaking his fist at the Statue of Liberty.

Remember, we must predict FFG, without becoming FFG.

When one stares too long into the Abyss...

It isn't as long as the X-wing forums 3 word story, nice job @Crabbok, looks like it's popular

Fallout Board Game announcement

interesting considering a different Fallout BoardGame was announced not to long ago

https://www.polygon.com/platform/amp/2017/4/24/15405918/fallout-wasteland-warfare-tabletop-miniatures-board-game

No.

Two Different Games.

One is a Board Game

One is a Miniatures Game

Two completely different License Genres...

Not going to argue... just think it's interesting how companies are splitting up their brands like this.

I thought Star Wars doing it was because of long standing contracts, but it seems to be happening a lot more.

It gets your IP purchased.

All-in-one sets are generally the thing of the past. Yes, you inflate the price for your license, but in doing so, you make it harder to actually diversify income streams, because most of the time, a Single Company isn't going to be able to put the time and effort into actually making all of the production work for you, let alone the development.

By splitting it, you isolate the license completely from single points of failure, at the same time, encouraging companies who have success in areas, to make that success work for you, rather than passing them over because they can't bid on an encompassing license including items they are not skilled with.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the info.

I'm pretty hype for the board game, I plan to pick up a copy when it's released. FFG gets a pass from me for not giving us an Armada article, this news has provided sufficient hype

Dang. I was really looking forward to the Armada/Beer pairings article I predicted for today. I really need to know BAI for Leia, in case my CC campaign moves to the basement. :(

Wine parings are much easier.

Flying an ISD? Something beefy like that goes great with a Cabernet.

Assault Frigate? Potatoes pair well with a Merlot.

Akbar? White wine, likely a Riesling...cuz fish.

What do you pair with a hammerhead then?

Tough call. For shark steak I'd go with a Zinfandel. :)

Whereas I feel going completely the opposite...

Growing up (and this is something I really miss), Getting some Chips with a piece of fried Flake....

So I'd pair it with a bottle of Coke ;)

But if its an expensive Shark Steak... Something like a Dry Rosé... Because they're generally a chunky, meaty fish more in line with Swordfish or Salmon, rather than flaky like Catfish.

Wine pairings are a very personal thing. This is a discussion worth having! :D

I think the Nebulon-B Frigate should be whiskey. Because I always need a strong drink after facing Yavaris.

Vader should always be paired with a Russian Imperial Stout. Preferably with an ABV over 10.

Cuz that is the Dark Side!

Everything goes with Tequila.

Trust me, I've put a lot of time into researching it.

I have too. Problem is I can never remember my results and have to keep doing it over and over. It's almost like they make this stuff addictive or something.

I made some shrimp tacos with blue berry margaritas last night. Lots of tequila.

1 pound raw shrimp
1 cup tequila
The life force of a large lime (lime juice)
Minced garlic
Paprika, chili powder, cayenne, salt, pepper
Marinate for at least 30 minutes. Cook.

1 cup frozen blue berries
1 1/2 cup tequila
3/4 cup sugar
Put in blender and mix.
1 can of limeade + 2 cans worth of water.
Mix. Get drunk.

People always make things far too complicated. :D

Margaritas are vacation in a glass...

Shots of Taquila just make me want to throw hands. That mindset can't be good for my plastic space ships.

@Undeadguyis the Brobra Commander. This could all just be part of his nefarious plan.

Now, if you want nefarious, I have a bottle of bourbon I infused with cherries, vanilla beans & chocolate nibs. Cherry cordials in a glass, and 90 proof to boot. Tends to sneak up on you.

If I leave the decanter in reach of both players, we will be playing bumper cars with Star Destroyers by turn 3!

That really does sound delicious.
