Thing is,

All we ever see Twi'leks doing is Dancing and Rebelling... So that's, like, an easy call to make.

Why not a Twi'lek news caster... Or a Twi'lek investment Banker. Y'know... Something that Twi'lek's aren't exactly known for...

A Twilek Voltron type robot that defends Alderan through time travel and transforming space lions.

I would classify that as "Rebelling", since apparently, to the Empire, Alderaan had it coming...

Genesis?

Actually looks really cool. hopefully the dice are the same as the Star wars RPG dice. I like how FFG does their roleplaying its nice changing from D20 system to a narrative system.

I really prefer FFGs method. Allows for the rule of cool, which makes rpgs really worth it.

Can you explain, since I haven't played an FFG RPG how it's a narrative system? Or do you mean like how they give the hacking example in the post?

Basically there are different symbols on the dice instead of a number to beat.

Some of the symbols are successes and failures, but the other symbols are read by the GM like tea leaves, who then narratively explains the result of whatever was being determined.

@geek19

For example, in one of my Age of Rebellion games, one of my Players was trying to snipe a pirate on a space station.

He missed the shot (since he rolled more failures than successes), but I also gave his fellows a bonus due to confusion (rolled more advantages than disadvantages).

However, he rolled a double threat as well (the worst symbol), so I had the missed blaster bolt take out one of the viewports on the station, which then started venting atmo and changed the course of the scene.

Ah, makes sense. DM alters it as desired. Not a bad system, but not what I was looking for for a side project, thanks. Intrigued by the ideas though!

It is like the hacking as they explained though @geek19 its up to the DM on how they give bonuses and stuff though. I like my players to plead a case when they try to add a bonus die.

It is a really good system. My only gripe is the way they pump out supplement books.

FFG releases in 10 books what another publisher would release in 3. It's good content... just spread out.

So I heard a rumour that X Wing wave XI will be coming late July.

I pretty much dismissed it, but the part of me thinking if it was true just sent the Armada player half of me into a mouth foaming anger spiral. If they managed to make X Wing appear out of thin air but Armada takes longer than expected again...

Just ranting for fun and keeping the thread going.

Yup they just got confirmation that its shipping now and releasing the week after us, for July 13th. Checking now to see the time discrepancy between announce and launch for both.

Honestly I think the Genesys roleplaying system is meant to be compatible with all FFG IPs, and offer incentive for you to buy all of their miniatures, so you can get double-use out of everything.

I also have a feeling that FFG might lose it's Star Wars license at some point and they are preparing for that with all the effort they have dumped into Rune Wars and now this. I mean I really hope I'm wrong here, but when you love something you begin to fear it's loss.

Or they just have the resources now to push their original games since the merger.

But not the resources to put out armada at a reasonable time.

I don't think its so much a matter has 'having the resources', but rather, 'having the desire'.

Asmodee, for example, no doubt has a great interest in putting their name on the things they can.

Licensee arrangements may proclude the Asmodee mark on FFG items that are made under the Star Wars License, for example. But something that FFG owns wholly that is put out under Asmodee's direction - that can get an Asmodee Advertisement mark, essentially...

Focus on what makes you money in the long run... Because yes, FFG does inadvertantly make Asmodee money, but they dont' essentially advertise Asmodee at the same time./

Not to have the supply chain conversation for the 100th time, but...

I predict that a new announcement is imminent.

Last year we had 4: Wave 3,4,CC & 5

they were in March, May, July, and August

Wave 6 will be shipping soon, and we are still 11 weeks out from GenCon.

I think we will get something new before the end of the month. Could be a new wave. Could be a new campaign. Could be something Epic.

Whatever it is I bet it will be announced soon.

A few weeks ago, I predicted a new product announcement by the end of June. It appears that I was wrong and that my powers of precognition leave something to be desired.

I therefor wish to apologize for my erroneous pronouncements, and vow that i will clean my crystal ball better in the future. I don't think I can overstate how important it is to keep your crystal-balls clean.

I wish a good long weekend to all. Happy hunting and Godspeed.

I have found that allowing my Crystal Balls to get dirty gives me a much more positive view of the future. ;)

Hey, nothing wrong with that as long as you keep them safe. You don't want your Crystal Balls to get busted.

My predictions only work for Runewars unfortunately.
