Well, you CAN do it, but it really wasn't worth throwing Rhymer out that far by himself with very little protection. Now when you can do it with 6 TIE bombers.... Ugh. Also, fleet ambush might actually result in someone being ambushed! (No it wont, stop taking it. Or keep taking it, and let me run a black dice ship into range on turn 2.)

You could do it with 3 Squadrons previously. Not just rhymer... Rhymer and 2 Buddies.

Squall lets you do it with...... 3 Squadrons. Because that's the 3 that gets the boost to make the distance. Potentially 4, by holding Rhymer Back and letting the bombers shoot at distance.

The rest of them just don't quite get the range, or even if they do, they don't have the Angles of Access for Attack...

of course, my Caveat on these things is what you can do with the first activation of the game.

If you're talking about what you can do with the other activations of the first turn, well, I didn't even bother calculating those, because they're secondary to the awesomeness that is the Nose Punch...

:D

Small bases? Yes, that's what the hammerhead comes on. Wokka wokka! All i know is that as part of the Rebel 20%, i just need to find out how to counter it....

You dont. First activation of the game. You can do nothing about it but watch your ISD die.

Rhymer, Maarek and Jendon don't need Squall's boost.

Checked.

Jokes on you, i dont OWN an ISD! Seriously, Rebel only.

I'll certainly watch OTHER people's ISDs die, though. I love Imperial civil wars, they're great for Rebellion morale!

To ACTUALLY answer your post: don't deploy anywhere near the stupid Quasar and its TIEs, I imagine.

I suppose a careful squadron deployment could help.

Han Solo too.

Han actually wouldnt, as I'd have to choose if I was throwing him somewhere early or not, but i don't get to react to the jump, sadly.

What I thought was that, with his ability, you could jump ahead before anything blocking Squall as some kind of mine. The slowest squadron (boosted by Squall) must avoid engagement with their boost so their movement is conditioned. It could boycott the nose punch.

However I didn't check Han's possibilities. And of course you would sacrifice him.

Yeah, and im not really sure its a great sacrifice. Of course, if your opponent is crazy enough to throw 3 TIE bombers that far in advance, wallop them with everything you've got turn 1. Great time to start flakking like crazy at them.

Hahaha!

It will be if you loose one ship at first round :P

However, space wizards who put torpedoes on unlikely triggerable targets are rebels so you can feel safe enough :D

The rainbow front one has a single black flak dice, so theoretically i could put OE and flechettes on there. In PRACTICE, that seems like a bad spot for the expanded racks that it really wants instead.

Oops. Sorry. Misunderstood. My fault.

Scuttlebutt on the Books-of-Face tell me that an Interdictor list won a Store Champs... Richmond, I think it was...?

I know I'm a bit late to reply, but an Interdictor build did indeed win a Store Championship (which I included below). Although I did get a bye round 1, my next two games were 8-3 so it wasn't a cake walk by any means. Our Richmond crew did travel down to NC and take top two, but they were gracious hosts as always. This was mainly a thought experient that Overdawg and I theorycrafted and I was glad to see the much ignored Interdictor able to hold it's own. Game 2 against an Ackbar MC80 and Game 3 against a Cracken TRCvette swarm.

After having tried it this past weekend after a friend got the starter box,it is a fun game. A bit more like x wing in terms of knowing speeds and distances though.

But now I'm dying to know what the hammerhead will look like.

I actually enjoyed that last game the most. I thought I was going to lose and simply got lucky when you rolled poorly. I was more than willing to let you do as you had intended with many of your squadron movements, like when you had the wrong ruler. Mistakes happen but the intent was clear and you have more than enough movement on several of those squads.

I'm genuinely curious about what I did to make you think I had an attitude or why I'm not casual. I thought I was pretty relaxed. You can say here or PM. I like feedback so I can change my behavior for future tournaments.

Its all water under the bridge at this point. Thanks for the PM. I will admit here that I should have shown more restraint in my response. All is good, no hard feelings.

Yea I probably shouldn't have said anything to begin with. We all had fun playing each other.

What? Reasoned discussion and polite discourse? WHAT IS THIS THE RUNEWARS FORUM?

Jerks like you are ruining the game! Just wait until I give my list of 4 ways to fix Armada! 80% of the players won't get it, but that's to be expected.

Feel more like home yet? ;)
