You measure by putting the ruler on the base. They were floating it and there was no reason. Not like there was a giant mess, where it is allowed to float the ruler.

But hey, that's me being pedantic.

I can't agree here. I played both the 1st place winner and the 2nd place, and they both played extremely fairly. I didn't see any questionable moves or slights.

I was there but didn't play against it. I think it was a 16 point bid with Motti, Demo (OE+APT+ET+IO?), 2 Goz, and Interdictor (ET+LS+TS+DCO+3 other upgrades). Rhymer, Maarek, 2 or 3 Defenders, maybe Tempest and Gamma.

The tournament had 9 people, so this list got a bye first round which put him near the top after round 1. Went on to win 2 7-4's I think. I took 4th and beat 2 of the 3 guys. My last game I played was pretty epic. Not sure if the guy I played is on the forums or not. I barely pulled out a 6-5 win.

It was a good tournament, but they talked a lot of **** before they showed up and while they were here which was pretty annoying. Apparently they are pedantic about the rules, especially tokens on the base. Wish they had read a little further since they measure and move squads incorrectly and didn't have the correct models set up when we played. But hey, gotta make sure those command tokens are on the base since thems the rules.

You and I played you the last game and you went out of your way to say you play casual but you are anything but casual. You had a major attitude like you are better than everyone else. I admit I was playing sloppy and I wasnt taking it seriously and I never said a word when you called me on stuff, I just continued playing on without comment. But you are obviously a brave internet warrior to come on here and whine. Next time be a man and say this stuff to our face.

You obviously dont have a good sense of humor because we were all just joking around having a good time.

I actually enjoyed that last game the most. I thought I was going to lose and simply got lucky when you rolled poorly. I was more than willing to let you do as you had intended with many of your squadron movements, like when you had the wrong ruler. Mistakes happen but the intent was clear and you have more than enough movement on several of those squads.

I'm genuinely curious about what I did to make you think I had an attitude or why I'm not casual. I thought I was pretty relaxed. You can say here or PM. I like feedback so I can change my behavior for future tournaments.

Maybe this is an indicator? "It was a good tournament, but they talked a lot of **** before they showed up and while they were here which was pretty annoying. I agree with that. But I was hoping more for in game, or after/before, behavior I did that was annoying. I knew what I was typing and what the intent was.

This is other-threadiness stuff, as its not even a General Discussion, basically - being specifics... Not that I'm enforcing a **** thing, just suggesting..... :D

As it is, with Quasar on last Friday, are people resting their hopes on This Friday for Hammerheads?

If they are going toupdate to "Shipping Now" this week, they are most likely to do so tomorrow... Its not just limited to tomorrow, but Tuesday is the most common day this happens by a wide margin.

I hope an article drops Wednesday. That's my guess.

Man, I hope we see Hammerheads this week. I keep saying I'm done with Cracken, but these babies may make me change my mind.

I'm hoping for an article, but I'm also hoping they show up after my local store championship so i don't have to worry about the quasar showing up and throwing 6 TIEs with Sloan at my Command Pickle

I say the same with Sato... I'm like... "I tried it, it was fun... But... Man... I might... DAMMIT." :D

See, I can see that argument, but then my mind goes "why not just use Mothma instead, as she's better?"

I think the difference there is specifically the Evade requirement.

Mothma is great, and the advantaged as long as you have the evade to spend.

Cracken is much more passive in that regard. He doesn't help against Squadrons, but he's still going to help you against ships when the Swarms of Sloane-ified TIE fighters come in and strip all of your Defense Tokens to the Bone :D

I had not considered that. Course, the general Cracken list has 8 YT-2400s, so who really cares about TIEs then?

And generics don't care about Sloane.

Me, because You better believe after all of my dealings with "Nose Punch", I respect the everliving hell out of the ability to speedily outmaneuver and strike as part of a Single Assault, against even the most comprehensive of CAP placements... Especially one that's placed to try to get the jump on you in the Squadron Phase...

Damage is already done, basically.

Hahaha, fair enough. As in every wave, prepare for massive upheaval of How Things Have Always Been Done. I mean, heck, with a quasar and rhymer and such, them bombing your deployment zone turn 1 means either setting up at an entirely far spot on the map, or you deploy your fighters later in order to maximize your ability to deny them a movement short of using a jumpmaster and all.

I'm better than everyone else

That;s the real disappointing thing for me.

People reacting like... This whole Turn 1 Deployment Zone Bomb is a new thing...

And I'm like...

REALLY?

Look for my big post on Page 106 of this Thread.

Also, reference the rest of the forums for "Nose Punch" :D

Well, you CAN do it, but it really wasn't worth throwing Rhymer out that far by himself with very little protection. Now when you can do it with 6 TIE bombers.... Ugh. Also, fleet ambush might actually result in someone being ambushed! (No it wont, stop taking it. Or keep taking it, and let me run a black dice ship into range on turn 2.)

I think it just depends. I think Mothma is definitely a better all arounder, but Cracken's passive buff is pretty decent in specialized lists. I'll also be looking at Mothma for Hammerheads as well, don't get me wrong. I've just been running Cracken at tourneys for a few months now and he's still on my mind.
