Expect an Age of Rebellion RPG article early this week: Friends like These changed status recently, and its of a similar vintage as Wave 5.

And yet, everyone else is convinced that Interdictors are at the lower end of the Power Scale...

They are, until Conflict and Wave 5, where they should be better than "lower end if the scale", which is where they are now, at best.

Not to diminish your win at all (excellent job man), but one win doesn't make a ship great, or terribly.. Ive won some local tourneys with some super janky builds (1 mc80 bizmark, supported by all nebs with projection experts, no squads). That doesnt mean the neb isnt on the lower end of the scale. It is, sans Yavaris. Same for the Interdictor, but it can work sometimes, but right now it is a lesser ship for sure.

No, one win does not. But the content and quality of those wins is something to be earmarked and studied, at the very least.

People talk about the Interdictor being Under-gunned... Yet I constantly out-shot Mon Calamari Cruisers.

I drove through B-Wing walls, and weathered the Blue-Black storm....

Honestly? Mostly, I found a concept that no-one else seemed to be trying... I mean, right there - the FC/FCT combo is found in the interdictor pack, but people have all but shrugged it off for Imperials - but you're able to force multiply that into something unique.... That's got to be worth at least experimenting with, right?

I guess that's all I was trying to do and purvey with that statement...

I mean, I was not scraping small victories here... I was tabling opponents... While racking up 4 turns of my Enemy's Contested Outpost....

So many people have just automatically written it off. I'm just trying to get people to look at it.

I guess that's all I ask...

But I don't expect some great empirical experiment to vindicate me.

Are you still sore that I didn't like your carrier Gladiator fleet?

For the record, I think every single ship in this game can be run well and I'm opposed to saying any ship class isn't competitive or is "low tier." The worst you'll get from me is "circumstantially great in the right fleet." I will definitely argue that certain upgrade suites on different ships are pretty bad, though (as I did regarding Gladiators trying to be dedicated carriers rather than torpedo gunboats).

Re: Interdictors

Interdictors are fine. They work great with heavier slower ships and their ability to mess with objectives is also pretty fun. When flown well they do well, especially if you're good at double-arcing with them (as Dras indicated he was). In the current meta they can struggle a bit against MSU fleets (just too many activations/too many attacks for Target Scramblers to do serious work) and bomber swarms (for similar reasons) but come wave 5 (with even more objectives they can have fun with and Jerrjerrod, who should make VSD-heavier fleets more maneuverable) I think you'll see them more frequently. Congrats to Dras for doing well with a pair of them and it's making me consider picking up a second just to try some silliness there.

Re: the Nebulon-B

I wouldn't put it at the lower end of the scale, either. Salvation is a really underappreciated title and it makes Neb-Bs punch far above their weight (especially with TRCs and an Intel Officer). Salvation can easily start putting damage into larger ships or stripping Scatters from flotillas on turn 2. It's amazing. I'm even seeing generic Neb-B Escorts in fleets to assist Yavaris with the Flight Commander/Fighter Coordination Team bucket line. Even if there's the comeback of "well I only think it's good with the Salvation or Yavaris title," that's still great. I rarely see MC30s without the Admonition or (usually if there's a second one of them) the Foresight title, and nobody is in here claiming MC30s are low-tier. They're great.

Congratulations once more, Dras! I know you don't get to play as much as you'd like and I know you were on a losing streak that was getting you down, so hearing tell of your success with an unorthodox fleet was very encouraging.

All excellent points. I agree with all but Admonition being the auto title for an MC30. Foresight is the auto include in a Mothma fleet. That ship can be made so unkillable that I use it as a flagship. Squadrons are its only weakness, that can be easily mitigated with a few A-wings.

Ok, Foresight soapbox put away. Dras, I love the double intradictor list, and may have to give it a whirl, as I have been struggling to make a single intradictor list that I can fly for anything but a statistical draw.

We've theorized some of the undisclosed squads have more of the new keywords, so they could fit together.

I know, but with Snipe for example, they just put it out there... There doesn't seem to be a barrier insomuch...

And the whole point of a Preview is to preview the contents of the box that is being previewed - to hold off something else to stick it in with them... I'm not saying that its not possible... I just don't see the plausability of it, in light of the fact that they often just like not previewing things.....

That's my suspicion as well. Likely something with Relay and/or Strategic. Although they did spoil Snipe with Saber Squadron earlier...
