I wouldn't be expecting CC to hit stores any time before mid-December ish.

I feel like they will be timing to ship the X-wing movie tie-in SKUs before the movie hits and likely CC and wave 5 for Armada will be with that shipment.

Yeah but in general, if you talk to your FLGS or even look at how many sold on Amazon or whatever, the newer X-wing stuff simply does not sell like it used to.

X-wing is still good, still has a large player base, but it's only natural that as the inevitable SKU growth gets crazy your new player uptake is going to decrease and maybe not keep up with people leaving the game.

Therefore, having rather obscure ships and adding more and more mechanics (with all the balancing issues it introduces across 10 waves and 3 factions) probably doesn't help the community in general, it almost starts to look like a reach, like they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

At this point you almost expect them to do some sort of reset or something.

It's hard to say. I won't dispute your stats. Stuff still seems pretty popular in my community.

For my own sake, I don't have as much interest in the new stuff, but that's in large part because much of my attention has gone to Armada. Also, I only do (original) Empire, for which the pickings have been rather slim of late. It seems like it's still pretty fun for the Scum players, though.

Regarding the bottom of the barrel, I felt that way back in Wave 4, aside from the Z-95. I've never been a fan of the TIE Defender, and had never been previously aware of the Phantom or the E-wing. The Quadjumper at least comes from a movie source, rather than a computer game (or comic, or whatever).

That said, I don't play X-Wing. Maybe the ship is going to be good. But from the outside looking in, new X-Wing content looks really boring and bland. Like Sabines Tie or the new Falcon.

Oh yes, that's a good one. I've been in there adding my red cents. Also, in my local Facebook community, when the Corellian Conflict was announced for Armada, there was some salt on the X-Wing FB group.

Still, as I'm arguing in that thread, X-Wing communities seem to have some structural barriers to a campaign. Yet, that may be different in places where there are fewer players (ie. smaller towns).
