We can get more than 1 article a week.
Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout.
We could get both squadron packs in a SINGLE article though...
Its possible.
Do we want that though... I mean, can they cover everything we want to see in that short time, including explanations of the new Keywords?
I mean, the latest trend as been to leave some things hanging.....
But We'd have to have explanations of Cloak, Strategic and Relay at the very least... And Judging of a lot of things (Z-95s, Defenders, in particular) is going to come down to Cost / Anti-Squadron / Battery Armaments....
It just seems like a lot to cover in one go...
Plausable to do it that way, for sure. But I think I'd be disappointed with what is left over ![]()
Look. All I'm saying is, holy objectives.
Batman.
Oh, but there's so many things about the Objectives that I need Wave 5 to really judge worthiness on, too!
Oh, but there's so many things about the Objectives that I need Wave 5 to really judge worthiness on, too!
Foe.
Show.
We were talking about that at regionals on Saturday. The idea that with such a large range of Objectives it becomes possible to fine-tune your fleet to the point where every single objective card you bring with your fleet absolutely sucks for the opponent.
As it is, there is always one that is "less bad" and never "worse than not going first" so going first is the business for (most) strategies and approaches (even if your fleet doesn't NEED to go first, if you get it you don't complain much), with the possibility of every objective option being a kick in the face will people build lists tailor-made to objectives and bid aggressively for second? Will that then allow for people to gamble with first-dependent fleets with unusually low bids?
Will the ships and squadrons from wave 5 fine tune our ability to build for objectives? Or will they be niche and costed a bit wrong like the interdictor?
Will there be an upgrade card that makes the interdictor more appealing?
EXCITING TIMES IN ARMADA LAND BABY!
I honestly don't think there are any lists that are first player dependent. There are ones that are better going first, but as I learned the hard way, if you can't handle going second with your list you're going to have a bad day when some jabroni shows up with a 40 point bid. These objectives look pretty sweet, and it seems there is now an alternative to picking intel sweep every time.
Eldricht Horror Article!
Should we start taking bets on when Wave 6 will be announced? I'm guessing in May.
You think a Worlds announce?
I mean, its May. Its 6 Months away.
You could accept long odds on a Worlds release if they decided to splash it in January....
What is an SKU?
By the way I already expressed my opinion that FFG seems to be overstretching and hence they divert resources from Armada
From what I'm getting (from 4 separate distributors, and 2 sources inside FFG)...
Is, basically:
Asmodee took the whole supply chain, and turned it on its head.
There was a plan for FFG products leading into December. That plan was ignored by Asmodee.
Asmodee is a Board Games Company, Asmodee Management - rightfully, in their own mind - focused on Board Game Product for Christmas.
Only so much could be prioritised given the new priority system.
And its not just Armada... Even X-Wing is Flipping out by the fact that they've only gotten 2 Articles on their Wave 10... Granted, that's 2 more Articles than we've got on Wave 5, but still.... If they are the Favoured Child, they're getting Whipped almost the same us as, and that is telling, isn't it...
Even from beside-the-scenes, and hearing muttered voices, and scuttlebutt at worlds is that not everything was Sunshine and Happiness with the Merger - and Honestly... it was never going to be... Mergers are not nice things, and they are never nice things... Sometimes they're better-than-the-alternative things, but no-one likes a Merger while its happening... And its ongoing...
I mean, that's all I've got on it...
I wish I could say I had a source inside Asmodee to give me further details, but I don't... And as it is, I clarify all of my above statements as scuttlebutt, Rumour, and connected information points...... None of it can be sourced as "Journalistic Proof".
It is presented as a possible set of background information.
Sorry for digging this up, but I wondered if I could get a little clarification.
Did Asmodee take FFG's supply chain and say, "yoink! We will be using this to get our games out by Christmas American pig-dogs. You can use it when we are done, huh huh huh!"
Or was it, "FFG, focus on board games first then the minis, you wipers of other people's bottoms! We fart in your general direction!"
I Don't know. I cannot give Clarification on something that I've pieced together with duct-tape and bandages from people's spite, anger, frustration and shattered Egos...
I mean, I'm Good. But I'm no Miracle Worker. ![]()
I personally think (and have little evidence to actually support - so its conjecture) that it was more the second... "Focus on Board Games." Wether that's because the Miniature Games sell well enough regardless, and that Board games can actually see a difference with Christmas Releases vs. Not... I don't know.

Fair enough.
Thank you!
Your flawed assumption there is that there can only be one day a month used as an excuse to get drunk.
And since we're americans, many of our holidays revolve around eating too much as well.
Plus, its a perfect excuse to trample people in shopping malls to get better deals in physical stores.
Thanksgiving is like THE american holiday, mate.
---
All that aside, if my prediction from last week holds true and we are looking at a December 22nd release, we'll need an article this week, and we'll need to see a "now shipping" date of around the week of December 5.

No, you miss my point... I have not made that assumption. Hell, I'm Technically "Retired". I could spend the time perpetually drunk if it weren't for such things as "Child Services" ![]()
The Day of the Melbourne Cup, is a day where, specifically, your Workplace gives you a paid day off (half day, in some cases), so you can Watch the Race, and inevitably, get Drunk... That is what makes it special.
I only understand that US Thanksgiving is coming up because I'm told there's "Black Friday" Specials all month at Car Retailers...
I don't know what's going on. My Wife was telling me Canadian Thanksgiving was last month....
So I just don't get it.

It's okay. There there.
It was just Canadian Thanksgiving.
Not real Thanksgiving.
You see, there's the unwarranted Arrogance I was missing in my life! ![]()
Now I guess things are okay in the world. ![]()
Not really, of course...
I don't know how US Thanksgiving would be better than Canadian Thanksgiving, anyway. I don't get Thanksgiving! Not an Australian Holiday.
Same as Halloween. Don't get Halloween. Get a bunch of related things. But not Halloween. I mean, Trick or Treat just seems dangerous...
::shakes head::
I was not built for this Hemisphere... Its downright antipodal at times.
Edited by Drasnighta... I think I need to be beaten senseless and indoctrinated into these mysterious northern ways... Where the Beer is mysteriously yellow, but at least its cold....
It's because Canadian Thanksgiving isn't 'Murica Thanksgiving. Basically a holiday where you make way too much food and get together with family. In grade school I learned it was about Native Americans and Pilgrims sharing their food together "giving thanks" to hospitality of each others company.
That's the "feel good story" that was taught in Wisconsin. Just stay away from the "genocide of an entire way of people" and you'll understand the true meaning of what it means to be an American.
Oh, you also have to eat a turkey after you fill it with bread. We have some weird traditions.

The beer is yellow because it's made from piss. At least that's what my grandpa always said hahaha

Beer is piss, and taste like piss. A glass of whiskey is all an American needs for a drink lol

As a Wisconsinite, I'm curious which district that was taught in. Not saying it's wrong or anything, just wondering. I remember being taught a feel good story more along the lines of President Lincoln instituting 'Murica Thanksgiving as a national holiday after the end of the civil war to help the recently divided country begin the healing process.

So that's the secret ingredient! Beer vs Bucket of Donkey Piss, which one wins the blind taste test?

It was in Green Bay. I distinctly remember learning about Pilgrims and Native Americans in 2nd grade and how the Natives helped feed and shelter the Pilgrims from Plymouth Rock. Not saying any of this is fact, simply what was taught in school.

Ah. That's probably why I remember something different, it was grade school curriculum. I don't really remember much from before my freshman year in high school and some of the instructors at my high school had a reputation for being a bit "quirky" with their lesson plans. So that's probably where the difference comes from.
