Happy holidays to all.
Article Predictions. Mostly General Discussion. But there's definately some Predictions scattered throughout.
Wow this thread is almost off page one. Doesn’t the forum turn into cycling Egyptian hieroglyphs if that happens?
I’ve spent my Armada Christmas drought learning L5R with the wife, it’s fun.
Hoping to get some Armada in no later than Easter.
Some days I wish something I created had that much influence.
Create an Armada expansion. I bet that would have some influence ![]()

I can't under the conscience that it wouldn't be tournament legal... I mean, I have ideas... I've tested and trialled Ideas... But alas, my ability to attend, let alone compete, let alone win worlds has been scarpered this year by US Immigration and just plain old bad luck.

Gotta built a giant ice wall to keep Canadians and former Australians out
.
Edit: (on second thought that wall is more likely to keep Americans in than to keep you guys out. This place is depressing anymore).

We have an idiom. I don't know the equivalent in English.
Más vale malo conocido que bueno por conocer.

I fear asmodee is eliminating all of the creative minds that started ffg and will replace them with company men that are not concerned with the art but only profit. Once you have suits in charge of a company like this, costs for the consumer seems to increase and the creativity and originality in games decreases.
So... I'm not really informed on FFG stuff. Who was he? What influence he had in FFG (or Armada). His leave can mean something for Armada or even any changes?
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

He was the founder of FFG and also one of the two designers of Armada.
If you listen to the IFF podcast where they interviewed Michael Gernes, he says that it was Christian’s idea / desire / passion to have a capital ships miniatures game, and Armada was his brainchild. I may be misremembering. But his leaving is not a great sign for our little game.
No gloom and doom here! Entrepreneurs are entitled to cash out at the right time.

Isn’t it just as likely he’s made enough money and just wants to move on and pursue other passions?
It was his brainchild, yes.
But he also hasn’t been directly involved in some time. As evidenced by the credits of our expansions.
I think beyond “big idea and initial generation”, which, has passed, it’s not going to mean a **** thing for us.
Same as James Kniffen - since the start, he already rolled on to other projects, and has left it in the hands of others. Despite being a founder of the game.
I don’t see things changing for US, as, basically, as far as Armada is concerned, they’ve both been hands off for years already.
Edited by DrasnightaI mean, sure, the founder of the company leaving could also mean the company is dead and all the games would end.
Thats basically the same amount of hyperbole we’ve already got here, after all ...

Noone in this forum seemed at any time before satisfied with FFG performance. Now Asmodee bought the brand and it's like everyone lost his best, generous and talkative friend?
Asmodee is not an investment group. It's a bigger game game producing company than FFG. The founders worked earlier for a french role playing games publisher. FFG was a creative studio for Asmodee since 2014! All Armada stuff came out in cooperation with these "company men". Even if the men in grey would be ruling: There is no logic in eliminating creative minds. And it's not like FFG was never interested in profit before.
If you have been founder and owner of your own firm, than you don't want to be an employee for long. If you don't have to, you will go and make something new! That Christian T. Petersen left Asmodee was only a question of time. And even if he loved Armada more than all his other games (which is a rumour), I don't think he would have supported it for long if it never made profit for FFG.
Why are all people here so nervous? Hug your favorite Star Destroyers, slow down and take it easy!

Christian left, not Michael. Michael is still here AFAIK

I already feel that things have gotten worse in terms of ffg games since the asmodee merger. The bigger the company is, the worst their customer service skills seem to get. Just my opinion but the more of the original team that leaves, the worst the products seem to get, not just ffg but any company in any field including several I’ve worked for.

In FFG’s case, such as...
...?
Not saying you are wrong but what in particular are you thinking of?
