Can’t hurt to drop another SSD article, people already know the price and that it’s coming, I’m sure lots of people like me have even already preordered it, so that money is already tied up anyway. I agree with you re: “wave 8” though. Doubt they’ll choke up the holiday sales with future as of yet unannounced Armada stuff.

? Them doing a separate article for every. single. 2.0 relaunch of existing x-wing ships will NEVER get old.

Then I think you'd be in the same boat as me, in the group FFG defines as 'part of the problem' and the reason we are being starved of articles. Because they want our attention to wander and start picking up their OTHER (more successful, ergo more profitable) product lines - at the very least, in additional to Armada, if not outright replacing it.

I mean, of course they want you to buy more stuff - they’re a business... but all businesses have shifting priorities, and really, when you look at their two big hitters, they’re rebuilding XWing from the ground up, and are launching a new TYPE of game concept (unique games) which, in itself, would take multi lines of development and production.

But if they were killing Armada, it’d die. Full stop. Move on.

Just enjoy the ride and check the changing Meta when the big thing hits - wether you actively purchase it or not.

I'm getting a feeling that we won't see our new wave until X-Wing has all its 2.0 waves announced

I don't see that as a bad thing.

I mean... X-Wing has just had its major turnaround, a major Revamp, which is good... But They're pushing a Wave every 4-6 months now... And not insignificant ones, given the amount of change-over and re development thats seemingly required...

... one wonders if they're not going to run into the same "Too much, too fast, not extensively tested." issue they seemingly had in the past... I mean, things are great now for them, but will that last the more they intro and re-introduce?

As an observer with some games design history, it really concerns me from that perspective... And although Armada's schedule is not... Well, not frequent, it certainly seems weighed and measured... And on top of that, we're developing a history of problems being addressed outside of waves, too...

Eh, maybe I'm just not an Instant Gratification person, and X-Wing seems to be tailored for that type who at least acknowledges that side for themselves. Because I'm content with waiting since we're in a "relatively good position" at the moment.

With the new system to tune points, they are probably thinking anything untested that becomes to OP or too weak can be adjusted without errata.
