2 Sisters of Battle Looking for a play by post Game

Also, I have a question: would people react with alarm to my warhammer if it looks like the staff of office for a priestly order? It's still big and metal but less threatening than a chainsword.

Oh! No, Estelia was talking about Ariel's shotgun. I don't think anyone expects a priest to be unarmed. I was just saying that if the Sisters wish to pass as pilgrims they should not be so visibly armed.

Oh, that makes sense. The teenage girl with a shotgun the size of her leg would attract more attention than Balthazar and his hammer. :P

Depends on the person. Arbites might be a little wary, but when aren't they wary?

I love Dark Heresy, always seems like the first roll of every campaign is a failure lol.

Well, it was only a 1 out of 4 chance.

And Estelia was the only one who really hid her weapons, too.

Well Balthazar's weapon looks like a badge of office, but the mono upgrade would make them wary (punching through a wall on a space station)

The combat shotgun is under the duster arguably.

And Estelia has her pistols under her robes.

So you all have a bit of a disguise/concealment going on, but it's important to see how well it's actually working. Even then, they (the armsment) may not see them even if the hiding of the weapons is poor.

"Oh, this? Well you see, officer, back on Thaur the priests would sometimes help in the quarries to get materials for new headstones. Yes, this hammer can pulverize solid rock, but it's used for strictly religious purposes!"

We still have yet to see if they even notice, it's not like their perception would be any better than yours.

I don't have a book near me right now, so a test would have to wait until I get home (after I'm assuming Lyn gets their post in), so even after they roll you'll have some time before we see the results.

Oh! Should we keep a specific order in mind, or just post once the other two had a chance?

Sounds good Lyn, I'll get a post in this evening as long as nothing comes up. The effects of the rolls won't necessarily be noticeable immediately anyways, so feel free to banter among yourselves...for now (was going to put an evil face, but apparently that doesn't exist, thought it did...did they remove it?)

I'd like it if you got in a word post, since Lyn and Dante both put some meat onto their rolling posts, before I make one. Please and Thank you.

I'll post one before I go to sleep tonight.

Thank you very much.

As they walk through the crowds and pass a particularly loud procession of chanting tech-adepts, Balthazar ducks a whirring censer bearing servo-skull. Once among somewhat quieter crowds, he turns to address the two Sisters.

((I'll make a Common Lore (Adepta Sororitas) check to see how much Balthazar knows about their order. Target number is 40 with Infused Knowledge. Rolled a 67 for 3 DoF.))

"I must confess that my knowledge of your order is limited. A small delegation of Sororitas once visited Thaur to pay their respects to a fallen ally, but I did not have a chance to speak with them. Few Sisters seek burial on Thaur; I presume your convents have tomb complexes of their own?"

I think so, but I'm going to palm this one off to Lynata, I think, just to be sure :P . I assume you meant the Adepta Sororitas as a whole when you said "their order," since as we've said before, Novices are not part of an order yet.
On a different note, Inellia's DW campaign is (kinda) getting rolling, RP wise, and I realized I should play out her mental disorder. She ended up whispering to her Chaplet around a bunch of Astartes, so I decided I couldn't just say they couldn't hear her. For that reason, I wrote a bit, with the disclaimer that even I don't really know what Inellia whispers about. I put it under a spoiler tag, in case some of the PCs decide not to listen in.
Since Inellia also shows up in this campaign (something I'm pretty pleased with, really), I figured I should show you what I wrote. I'm not entirely convinced it fits her character, but I think it's at least close:

((translated from High Gothic))

Kenderel III, Segmentum Ultima, 623978.M41 . . . 20 years, um . . . 153 days ago. Cult activity detected. Investigation uncovers Nurgleites in underhive, city of Gareth. Purge attempted, too late, the ritual completed. Blood, puss, bile, guts . . . warpspawn. Troopers Johnathan Halen, Marxsus I'Thasel, and Valerine Rathel consumed. Adept Quirus Delinus corrupted. Bolt to head. The warpspawn, the daemon, banished by Sister Inellia, close quarters. Record sealed. My faith will remain pure. I will remain pure. The Emperor is my shield, and I am His sword. As He wills, so I will act.

One of the beautiful things about the Imperium is that it's so byzantine that many details of an organisation's inner workings are probably little known to the outside world, providing us with a lot of space to make mistakes and then simply explain them away as assumptions or rumours your character may have heard.

A priest like Balthazar could probably find this detail out fairly easy -- if he had bothered to ask or read up on it. Personally, I consider it only natural that most "outsiders" would simply assume that novices are part of an order already. ;)

Estellia was already allowed to sit if you missed that, or is she waiting to be told again?

Ah, thanks! I have edited my post.

Got a post in.

Heh, I'm almost as ignorant of how we should be doing this as Estelia is :P Good points in your last IC post, Weasels.

Yeah Balthazar already took it in a direction I didn't think you guys would go. Should be plenty of fun.

"You use each other, you make due. You are agents of the throne now, even acolyte as you are. You were specifically chosen because it is believed that you are capable of handling this in whatever manner you deem fit. I can only provide you with this information for now. My duties are soon to lie...elsewhere." She looks longingly out the window of Kappex Orbital as if something is calling her elsewhere.

And that "elsewhere" is taking its sweet time getting off the ground :P
Although I'm assuming that Inellia wants to be back on Ophelia VII (well, I'm saying that's where I think she wants to be). Who would want to babysit a bunch of disobedient Astartes who will only give you the time of day because the Watch Captain said they have to. :D
I'm looking forward to the experience. It promises to be fun.
Anyway, off topic.
I'm excited to see where this story goes as well!

Got a post in, if you didn't notice.

If they move the forums into the archives can we still access them?

I haven't actually went and done it, but if you go to a thread in the Forum Archive section, the box for making a new post is still there. It doesn't look like they are locked.
