Yeah I mean the Ship has artificial gravity and once the bombs already have momentum, they will just keep going until they hit the target "underneath". Not that science would be the appropriate approach to Star Wars anyway.

Heh, yeah, I didn't even think of that. I went with the whole "magnetic repulsors" thing that is the canon explanation.
