Yeah, that's definitely what I'd call a seriously modified YT-1300.

All in the eye of the beholder, I guess. I've always liked Blastboats, and at twice the length of an X-Wing I wouldn't consider it exactly small.

Indeed. Size-wise, it is large for a fighter, but for a ship that needs to carry supplies for months and exploration equipment it seems tiny. And at the same time too large and bulky for a fighter. Others like the A24 sleuth qare not much larger themselves, but look more like a fast ship to me. eye of the beholder, indeed

Yup. I did a modified YT kit bash a while ago (sort of a more Serenity-feeling YT 1300 cross)... and I may have to rethink it and incorporate some of this into it. I'll post pictures here when I get her wrapped...
