Publishing modules

By reg, in WFRP Gamemasters

Not looked at the forums for a considerable time. The long and ridiculous saga of the 'Trouser Bandits' has come to a satisfyingly bloody end after completing the first edition TEW campaign - there is now a mainly posthumous Imperial decoration known as 'der Grande Hosen Banditen', awarded for great acts of heroism by those of a rather low moral and social standing. Anyway, we're thinking of starting another epic campaign, home made, again centred around a bunch of pathetic low life losers, but perhaps publishing the modules as well as the game play (so I can highlight just how stupid my players are and show off our wonderful maps and cards). Just a quick question, though. Am I allowed to publish material for wfrp3 after the closing down of the game but not the relinquishment of rights by the publisher?

I think you're allowed to publish fan material, but you're probably not allowed to charge any money for it. As that would mean that you would make money from an IP that you do not have the right to. So if you share the adventure for free, with maps cards and all, it should be no problem. look at Liber Fanatica ( http://www.liberfanatica.net/ ) as an example, they have produced free fan material for WFRP (both for 3ed and previous edition) for a long time without any issues.

However, if I recall correctly a fan made die roller app for WFRP3ed made it into Apples App store, but as it cost money ($1) it was shut down quite quickly.

Actually that's not strictly true. The die roller app was official and had Fantasy Flight's stamp on it as can be seen from this link here:

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2010/5/20/a-small-but-vicious-app/

The question remains though. Why is it now not available and nor is the already bought and paid for app that's on my phone but not working. I've emailed FFG customer service for some answers. Hopefully it's just an oversight but let's see.

There was another die roller (it was called WHFRP Dice) which was only on App store for a few days or weeks which was a fan made one. So at one point there were two WFRP dice rollers on App store.
