*spoilers* Special Forces TIE/sf is surely coming to X-wing, but how?

By dewbie420, in X-Wing

I'm struggling to see why you'd take the sf over the defender though similar price point but /D offers better damage with control, x7 offers far superior defence, and the white k turn equals if not tops the rear arc.

the TIE/SF and the Defender are radically different price points. The PS9 pilot is still a point less than the PS1 Defender pilot. The PS3 generic is probably 21-23 points, vastly out of the Defender price point. And, like the /D Defender, it gets to make two attacks a turn or get an X-Wing's attack. With the title, it's a T-70 with probably a better dial, and better offensively, for cheaper.

Sorry that you're disappointed with one of Wave 9's biggest players. Maybe lower your ridiculous standards.

No, no, you don't understand.

It's not OT, thus it can't possibly be any good because different things are EVIL.

The TIE Defender wasn't in any movies either, and most pilots and upgrades weren't.

I'm a TRUE Star Wars fan, so I just use content from the original movie (the ONLY good one!). Just because fake fans keep beating me doesn't mean they win!

Well of course! ALL THAT IS NEW IS TERRIBLE.

I'll take two, please.

Cybermat7, why are you even here?

No really, why?

Because if you dont like any of the movies except for New Hope, and you dont like any of the ships or cards or abilites from anthing that wasnt in that same movie, then why on God's green Earth, would post on a TIE/SF (the TIE in Episode VIII - also known as not a New Hope- and so not the originl movie) thread.

You do realize that this thread is pretty much only about the TIE/SF so if you dont like it then why post? Especially if you are going to be rude and say that some of us true fans of a lot of Star Wars stuff, are "fake fans"!

Now I get that for some reason you may not like the movies or anything else about Star ars, or that you may be a purest- and only like movie ships, but then again why would you post on this thread?

Did someone on these boards really just insult the other 2 original trilogy movies, and everything else about the game, and Star Wars universe?

Have you heard of sarcasm? It's pretty new...geologically speaking of course only a few hundred thousand years old.

Sorry I think I've asked before but do t recall in which thread (there so many SF ones!), can anyone link to the new image that reveals the other named pilot as Backdraft?

It's the pic in the release article.

It's definitely 'Back-something' - might be 'Backlash'? I've not seen a 'proper' image of the card.

He's definitely got a very 'terse' ability - two lines only. "When [something] you [may something]"

The last three letters look like aft to me. I was willing to bet he'd be "backfire" and get an extra die in the aux arc. But Backdraft doesn't seem to support the same idea.

Hobojebus said- "Have you heard of sarcasm? It's pretty new...geologically speaking of course only a few hundred thousand years old."

Maybe he was speaking sarcastically, and maybe not, when I wrote it last night, I didnt see it as sarcasm. I wondered if it might be, but he didnt indicate that it was or not.

And I have seen some people post similar things about anything not from the original trilogy being bad, just like those that think everything about the prequels/clone Wars era as being terrible (albeit much of the prequels are really bad, but not the ships, well not most of them).

With that being said I wondered if this guy might be thinking the same thing as some of those.

Am I the only one disappointed in the stats of the TIE/sf? Only two agility and no evade make for a very fragile TIE, and the inclusion of Wired doesn't inspire confidence in its dial. Also disappointing that this cannot make use of the only good Tech upgrade, Comm Relay.

Which is the identical situation the T-70 is in, with identical HP. It's just as good as a T-70, but better because it has a rear arc and can make either an X-Wing's attack, or two two-dice attacks from the front and the back, making it effectively better than the T-70, except it's cheaper.

I'm sure you'll live.

Well we don't know what the dial looks like yet, it lacks boost, and T-70s can take either IA or AT to improve their durability, not to mention regen droids.

Also, of course it should be better than old rebel clunkers, its the latest and greatest Imperial hardware!

but it's cheaper, by like, 3 points.

Well yeah, we buy them in bulk.

We haven't seen the dial or the tech yet but based on what we know for sure I'm disappointed too.

I hope it's not another DoA imp ship like the bomber with no ordnance or the tie advanced overpriced for what it did.

I really hope we won't need a fix thread for the tie cog.

"War outfit win turn" to you too, guy.

Time to consider is creating more and more acceptance of this arranged betrothal. I've stopped thinking of it as "the next TIE" and, as you fine gents have pointed out; started thinking of it as "the Imperial T-70 with a twist".

It'll be fine. Really, it'll be fine. Objectively the TAP isn't exactly incrediawesomgreamazeballs . . . galisticexpalidocious... yet it's good enough and versatile/cheap enough and (long and short) "fun" enough that most of us were grateful for it's inclusion. The /SF will be fine. Yeah.

no this isn't self delusion speaking, why?
