SirWilli's Workshop: Armada stuff

By SirWillibald, in Star Wars: Armada

Bump and Update?

:D I think a post like this was inevitable...

Sorry for the slow pace, I'm a little busy with other things at the moment and I'm having some trouble with my website and I can't add an instruction page at the moment (can only log-in from my tablet, but adding new sites from there is a real pain in the ass).

But I finished my last prototype yesterday, here are a few preview pictures:

I'm going to clean the last bugs (thanks to my proof readers!) and you'll get the file ASAP!

It is so beautiful. I am in love.

Really though, thanks for all you do. I know you have other things to do, so please don't think I am trying to be pushy.

What they said ^^

Also what they said. You're a great guy for doing all this SirWilli, I love that box. I absolutely cannot wait to get all my upgrade cards in that! Thanks a lot for all your work!

The German version looks so much cooler than the English one. It must be the long words.... Sammelbox aufwertungen indeed.

With regards to the Really Useful Boxes: I've been using the 9L ones extensively, as well as the 4L boxes.

The stack on the left is almost my entire X-wing collection, and all of my Armada kit on the right. So many microhangars. :3

That is a huge A-wing on your shelf.

:)

I guess it's just a matter of perspective, so don't worry.

This is great, I actually found myself thinking about printing the english version for me, because "CollectorBox Upgrades" sounds way cooler than "Sammelbox Aufwertungen"... :)

Perhaps it has to do with the novelty of a different language. I must admit that German is an awesome language. Need a new word? Put these three words together. Too long? Abbreviate the words and put them together.

Also, nothing gets my high school students to pay more attention than yelling in German.

That's one of the Hasbro A-wing toys.. also have a B-wing and Y-wing on the top of the cabinets. :3

i don't know if it's just me but i printed up all the Rogues and everything fits except the firesprays, they're too high

nevermind got my answer from your site

It's not just you, the **** Firespray is just a tad too big. Unfortunately I didn't know about this when designing the squad hangar.

Possible solutions:

- SirWilli's makes all boxes taller. This means breaking the established standard that allows to stack two boxes inside the game box. Possible, if desired.

- You take of the Firespray model. Not that great if painted.

- You print the alternative and slightly taller hangar for the Firespray, p29 and p31 of MicroHangars v2.1

Does this help?

i went with the easiest option of just seperating the 2 pegs.this was because i like that all the boxes are the same height, but i'm going to consider the taller box as well.

thanks

Hi guys,

I'm having serious trouble with my website, but the CollectorBoxes are ready. Therefore I'll post a link here for now, feel free to complain, if it doesn't work:

CollectorBoxes (Upgrade Cards) v1.0 ENG

There's no fancy instructions page yet, see above, I'm sorry. But I tried my best to add some info to the file, it's a really straightforward build, don't worry. If you can't figure it out, let me know!

Collectorbox update now official:

Pictures to be found on my site or above. Feedback welcome!

Awesome! So happy!

I've been a lurking member for 6 years... but I had to come out of hiding to thank you! (I think - so far you've only made me spend alot of money :P )

First, I've bought a used Rexel SmartCut A525 Pro for less than 90 eur (incl. a new set of blades and cutting rail). It can cut, perforate, and score. And will probably last my lifetime :)

Now I've gathered this shopping bag , which I intend to order in a few days. Then I think I'm all set. However, any comments are very welcome - I may well have missed something obvious.

((for some reason I cannot insert pictures, so I've posted links instead))

Great Scott, that's quite an investment! You forgot a corkboard and a couple of darts and a photo of my face, I'm pretty sure the moment will arise in a few days when you feel the need to throw something into my face... ;)

Joking aside, don't forget a paper scissors, personally I don't do any machine cuts, only use my wife's A4 cutting board for scoring. Your's looks even better...

A nice audio book helps a lot, too!

I'll admit to wanting to throw something once or twice in the past. Most memorably when my ISD triangles didn't sit deep enough into the main box and I had to start over (I knew it was my own fault, but who blames themselves for anything anymore... OBVIOUSLY the design was flawed).

I find box building a fine time to listen to the latest IFF podcast. Just be careful you don't randomly burst into laughter while handling sharp objects. Could be trouble.

I wonder if Wave 3 and 4 have made it to Germany yet?

Oh, I don't know, I've sold all my Armada stuff recently...

No, that's a bad joke, wave 3 has arrived, wave 4 not. Since I preordered both together you'll have to patient.

But I promise to make additional hangars and stuff, even though I have to do some X-Wing stuff first. My new website will be live soon and after that I can finally start working on boxes again.

/me shakes head

you had me going for a half second with that first line, good one

:P I was tempted to omit the second part of my post for at least one hour...

I know it's been a long time since you heard from me and I've got quite a lot worried inquiries about the lack of updates.

Long story short: I'm still there, been terribly busy but I intend to catch up.

Today I'm the launching of my completely re-designed website, you can check it out here:

No new stuff at the moment, but now that monster's of my plate, I can finally start work on boxes again.

Thanks for staying with me, stay tuned for further updates!

Huzzah!

Welcome home, mate.
