Looking great!
SirWilli's Workshop: Armada stuff
I can't wait for the finished product!
I love this so, so much. LOVE it.
And now I kinda want to print out the card categories in German.
It is AWESOME! Makes a day that started off poorly better!
Word of warning based on recent experience: If you use superglue when assembling these, you will get a VERY secure box, but superglue's claim on paper is absolute and unyielding. For most of the boxes I've done so far this hasn't caused any problems, but the glue's complete lack of give or flexibility gave me a few issues when doing the ISD box. Nothing serious, but I did end up having to trim down the lid flap to compensate for a minor misalignment, and the GearBox and reinforcing beam have to give each other some personal space. On the upside, the only way this box is coming apart is for the paper itself to be destroyed!

After having done a large number of boxes, I've found that regular white glue (i.e., Elmer's) works really well. It also has the benefit of being able to maneuver the pieces for a little bit if you need to line things up.

I have always been too worried about warping to do this, so I have used glue tape. That is more expensive and sometimes doesn't get corners as well. Do you suggest going to elmers?

SirWilli himself uses the german aquivalent of Elmer's, or at least I think so, because I use white colored crafting glue (transparent when dry) with the same characteristics. My favourite brand even has a very fine tip, like a pen, therefore only allows to produce little "glue worms" instead of a thin and even application to the entire glue area (take a good look at some of my photos from my step-by-step guides, you can see what I mean).
I have no real problems with warping, besides that after glueing big parts you can see some bulges under the paper where the glue is. Really awful at first, but it disappears magically after a few hours of drying.
I haven't used any other glue for the last 4 or 5 month.
I use elmers glue sticks. Those are great.

Yeah. A small amount, thinly spread over the tab works really well, and doesn't really mess with the paper. My wife uses glue tape for her crafting projects, and I know it's pricey and you generally need to go to specialty stores to get it. Elmer's is cheap and plentiful.

I have been using the glue sticks too and they seem to work pretty well.
Another Elmer's fan here. I used double sided tape initially, but several of my boxes have come undone after several months of average use. The Elmer's ones, OTOH, are still as sturdy as ever. The ability to adjust for a few seconds after application has saved my bacon a lot.
CollectorBox update:
There will be three sizes, each in two variants (one row and two row), allowing storage of up to 400 cards per box. Creating all the outline pages was a pain in the ass (28 pages of different sized rectangles...) but today I was able to start working on the Photoshop part. Gosh, I was so glad I decided not to go with stickers but do full color boxes instead, sneak peak time:
I am so excited!
Ditto!
I'm a huge fan.
No other reason for posting, other than giving face and thanks.
Thanks guys, 2 out of 6 boxes are done, ****, this turned out more tedious than I thought... You'll have to wait a few more days before I'm ready. But it's worth waiting, the CollectorBox is really cool and functional, I already love it myself...

Looks like it's going to be absolutely epic, my friend. Looking forward to it!
Would you be willing to make available a set of blank squadron boxes? I've purchased some custom squadrons, and would like to store them the same as my official squadrons.

Completely blank? Sure!
EDIT:
5 out of 6 box variants done...
Edited by SirWillibaldOkay, the CollectorBox files are currently in the proof reading process.
I just finished the GearBoxes v2.1 with thicker fold lines, but I'm having serious issues loggin in to my site. I've uploaded the GearBox update to my DropBox folder, in case you can't wait:

Edited by SirWillibaldSorry, me again.
I'm looking for help again: I started a french version of my stuff a while ago.
Since nearly all my Armada stuff is automated by now, adding additional french boxes or even complete new language versions is quite easy. But since I don't speak those languages I'd need the help of a few foreign players, who are willing to join or form a language team.
You'd need to be able to translate a bunch of english phrases for me (excel file), and after this I'll send you proof files with the boxes to check before I upload them to my site.
If you like to participate, feel free to contact me by posting here, by PM or mail!

Hey, thanks a lot. My Assault Gunboats and E-wings will be quite happy in those.
Bump and Update?
