SirWilli's Workshop: Armada stuff

By SirWillibald, in Star Wars: Armada

So I finally got all my boxes set up, It took me about 6 hours total time to get all the boxes made and my fleet stowed properly and I am amazed. There is so much more room in the armada box now. I even made a few "spacer boxes" so they didn't slide around. I also used a piece of card stock to block the whole in the top of the Armada box.

Thank you so much SirWillibald for all the work you put into this. On the other hand I am a little angry with you because I now have a new obsession. I am going to start work on the Card trays and the Carrier boxes on my next day off :)

Update time:

Updated the CarrierBoxes with an option to make a toss-every-squad-into-one-box version.

Big thanks to SirWillibald for making and sharing these.

Here is my collection so far:

2015-07-30%2017.11.47.jpg

It is a total of 128 tuckboxes and 11 carrier boxes.

Everything fits into two of the game boxes with a little room to spare.

Now off to start making boxes for my x-wing collection.

Are you planning on making boxes for Imperial Assault?

That is the next game that I really need to organize.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

You have just a tad more squadrons than I do, otherwise this is how my collection will look. Did you get 4 of each squadron pack?

Big thanks to SirWillibald for making and sharing these.

Wow, that's a collection, so cool to see all of them boxed up in my hangars, you made my day!

You're welcome, I'm still having fun!

And yes, I plan to do some things for IA as well, preordered a german copy, looks like it will be here in a few days.

I intend to make standard tuckboxes once I figured out the system behind all those cards and how they are stored in a reasonable way. And since I intend to paint the minis, I plan to make UnitQuarters like I did for Battlelore:

What else? Who knows, have to get to know the game first...

EDIT: Haha, just noticed that I already posted this picture somewhere around page 7 in a different context, sorry for the boring repetition.

And BTT:

@German Armada fans:

Little update, the Armada CardHolder is now available in german, as well! Check it out on my website.

So, using SirWilli's boxes, I've managed to shoehorn 1 basic set, plus all of wave 1, including a second gladiator and guppy into the original armada box. yay!

I would totes go for having your tuckboxes for the IA stuff. it's really a huge mess in the box as it is.

Thanks, fancy a preview ?

SirWillibald, what are you using to make your tuck boxes? I'm thinking of making some for some of my other games.

For standard tuckboxes I use this:

and do some minor tweaks in Illustrator.

All non-standard boxes are designed from scratch by myself with Illustrator, but you could use any other vector graphics program, I would think.

Great thanks, I will check it out.

Do you have/could you make videos of the folding steps for the more complicated paper projects like the cardholder command bridge? :) I can see some instructions along the edges of your prints but dummies like me cant figure it out on the first, or third, or n th try.

You're trying to build this only with the instructions on the print sheet and a photo? You have my deep respect...

Seriously, there's a detailed step-by-step instruction page, the link can be found in the description or just here:

Hope this helps?

Perfect

Long time no see, still waiting for wave 2 to arrive in germany.

But meanwhile, you may take a look at my new:

ModularTokenBox
New ModularTokenBox system to store all your tokens as you see fit! Here's a preview picture of an Imperial Assault version:

2015-110.jpg

The compartment size is highly customizable and you can even stack two of those trays under one lid. For now you'll only find a plain white generic version, will add some Armada stickers later on!

And some X-wing stuff and minor website changes.

While we wait for wave 2 I figured I would show my tuckboxes.

This is one of every ship and two squadron packs from the core set and wave one. I pack them into 2 - 4 liter "really usefulboxes" and then put them in an old backpack for easy carrying.

Looks great, what exactly are those boxes? I use similar ones myself, but your boxes look way better!

4 liter "really useful boxes" They are the perfect size for the tuck boxes. I searched for weeks for a box with the right dimensions to hold the tuck boxes securely without wasting space. This box is the best I have found and would recommend it to anyone.

SirWillibald , Is it possible to get a version of the Neb-B and CR90 box that is taller to allow the ships to be placed in them with the stands still attached?

My Neb-Bs and CR90s frequently detach from their pegs so I was going to glue them but this would ruin the amazing tuckbox storage system.

I have had 2 CR90 pegs break so I had to glue them as well

That's a fair and understandable point, I've added it to my list. Hope to have some spare time soon!

Thank you!

Yes thank you!
