Making Detailed Maps

By Benu5, in Only War Game Masters

I was fiddling with Roll 20 and saw you could use an image as the background and then put the tokens on it, and off you go.

See here

And I thought about finding an image to use as the space port for Against the Savages.

Of course there's nothing that could do it justice in my eyes.

Then I thought about what it would look like, and remembered the Space Port from the first mission in Dawn of War. It's perfect, there's jungle and it's pretty ruined, that's what the port on Skrynne looks like!

So I looked for a top down view of that, to then plaster onto Roll 20. No joy.

When I thought all was lost, I remembered that there are mod tools for DOW, just load up the map, get a top down view and Bob's your Uncle. This way you could create maps for almost any 40k environment, it's literally made to make maps in the 40k setting.

Unfortunately the Mission Editor doesn't work for some reason on my PC, maybe it's too new and I can't find a fix. Anyone ever do this? Or is able to do this?

Update

Got Mission Editor working and made a map. Now I need a way to capture the image with a higher resolution.
