As tingly as my junk gets watching this trailer, does anyone else get a little bittersweet feeling watching the Falcon knowing its going to be all CGI instead of the "old school" effects from the original trilogy?

Ignoring the huge model falcon they made? I don't see how you can complain. They are using a ton of practical effects on the ground, and using CGI for the space battles, which makes the most sense.

Already looks better than the entire prequel trilogy imho. Save us JJ, you're our only hope.

That looks like Oscar Isaac's character. Definitely not Wedge although I love the idea of him being in the movie. Unfortunately actor Denis Lawson has no interest in reprising that role:(

This looks much more like J.J. Abrams' style then the other spoof trailers. I can kind of believe this one is the real deal. Can not wait until next year to see it!

A shiver ran up my back and I got goose bumps watching that! It feels like we are returning to the original trilogy with a modern spin! I love it!

I'm intrigued by the "lightsaber" they show with the cross guards.

It doesn't look like the traditional lightsaber. The blade is rougher, almost like a jet of flame. Same with the cross guard emitters. It also doesn't power up with the same iconic sound. Could this be a similar technology, but different from the lightsabers we all know and love?

Also the new sensor dish on the Falcon looks great. I mean they did break the old one off if you recall!

Everything looked fantastic - the broadswoard lightsaber, the X-Wing variants on the water, and of course the Falcon were my favorite shots. For everyone saying the broadswoard looks impractical or dangerous, people have suggested that it's to protect against any other lightsabers sliding down the blade and cutting a hand off. I'm sure he wouldn't have built that style sword if he couldn't wield it. Probably going to end up being more of a defensive weapon. You can already see the effort that's gone in to practical effects. It's just an 88-second glimpse but I'm feeling much better about this than I was before, and I wasn't even worried before.

I've just got to say, I really prefer this dish over the old one. I know that sounds crazy to say but it has a nice contrast with the falcon's roundness.

The lightsaber itself can be impractical in some cases. It's just a really cool sci-if weapon. So the broadsword is fine. In fact jedi's initially were supposed to basically be space knights. So it fits that original inspiration. (Except that's a Sith apparently not a Jedi.)

They were more akin to Space Samurai.

Loved it! Not to ruin it for anyone, but the Trailers for Phantom Menace looked awesome too, and we all know how that turned out!

That being said, I am optimistic that this will be an awesome return to the Star Wars universe!

I love seeing all the atmospheric flight effects. Sand and water kicking up, contrails. Looks good so far!
