Everything new sucks. They should just re-release the OT in theaters on the original 30+ year old prints in mono sound. please, nothing new or no different visions for it. Let's ignore the prequels and anything past Empire.
Edited by R2TitoReal trailer at last...

I would go watch it again.
I was just kidding. I loved it, even if it sucks, which I hope it won't, it's great that anything is being done live action. I just get tired of hearing fans always saying how much they love "X"' but constantly complain how bad the next chapter of "X" is going to be or how it is ruined before we know anymore about anything. And I am sooooooo tired of hearing how JJ ruined star trek. Do know what ruined star trek? space hippies, tribbles, people painted black & white down the middle and over-acting. But I guess I'm not intellectual enough to know how Star Trek was all about social commentary about the era in history that it aired and not supposed to be an action packed romp. But I digress. I think the trailer looks amazing, but it could very suck when it is released. None of us will really know till next year.
I want more¡¡¡¡¡¡, this teaser doesn't show much, but enough to fire the sparkle, I really wait for the next tráiler, greettings.

It sure does.
Uhm. It doesnt tell me anything about what the movie is about, what the story is about. who the heck is even the main character?
Also, lightsaber hilt is dumb. Can vouch as a scrub stick wielder, level 5.

What did you expect 13 months out?

You've seriously run out of positive things to say lately.

That's why they call it a teaser trailer. Tons of movies do these, just to show off little bits and catch people's attention before they're ready to show off anything more about the movie.
I loved it except for one thing: The epileptic shakycam shot of the stormtroopers. I have a really difficult time tracking scenes like that*, and the usual explanation is that it's a battle and supposed to convey a sense of chaos. But I think there are better ways to convey chaos, and the shakycam technique is a weak, tired cop-out.
I hope maybe that scene is more solid and steady in the actual film. This isn't just a style nitpick, it's physically [well, neurologically] difficult for me to process it visually, and it's so pervasive in movies. I can't be the only one, either. Guys?
That single gripe aside, I'm just really glad to see this. Things like the flamesaber and Scissor-Wings and newtroopers... I start out thinking I'm not so sure about this, but they tend to grow on me—and I actually enjoy that process as well.
*Related opinion: Smell-O-Vision 3D blows so much. Let's make this look like exactly three layers of cardboard cutouts, but at the total expense of visual fidelity. No. I can't wait for that stupid trend to die. More resolution for 2D, and better dynamic range. Boom, done!
I find 3D to be good when the movie was shot in 3D and not made 3D later. Movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Edge of Tomorrow, to give two recent examples, that don't try to do the whole things-popping-out-at-you bit and just let it add some depth to the background. I used to hate 3D with a passion, but it's really started to grow on me lately.

Shaky cam is annoying. The director usually doesn't know how to create tension or a sense of excitement so he just says "shake that camera around!!!". It's horrible. It can be used sparingly and I'm fine with it, or stylistically (like in Saving Private Ryan), but generally I don't like it either.
As tingly as my junk gets watching this trailer, does anyone else get a little bittersweet feeling watching the Falcon knowing its going to be all CGI instead of the "old school" effects from the original trilogy?
Yep. 'Course, I'm also in the camp that wishes the new Godzilla movie and Pacific Rim were suitmation... (still liked them)
Lego version with lumberjack spoiler.
Lego version with lumberjack spoiler.
Given the short time he's had to do that it was pretty good.
I loved the trailer, however I hope that the next second of footage we see of football-mech following what's shown in the trailer involves it being hit by a blaster bolt and exploding with a loud "WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO" scream.
I mean seriously, rolling along like that, beeping... it HAS to explode. It's a cinematic law.
Shaky cam should indeed be reserved for scenes involving knives, bathtubs and screaming women.
That said, I don't recall the stormtrooper scene having shaky cam as much as flickery cam. That may just be an effect used for the trailer.
I am definitely not a fan of the shaky cam for the Falcon shot.
Not gonna lie, I like the saber broadsword. Very excited for this.
It's not broad though. It's just got more projections on it. Broad would've been if the blade projects up in a sort of sheet from the crosspiece, like, say the one in this pic:

Why is everyone assuming they're stormtroopers?
Why is everyone assuming they're stormtroopers?
Because they look an awfully lot like Stormtroopers?
Calling Dennis Lawson an idiot because he turned down the role in this movie is completely unfair. He has his own career, and filling a small role in movies 35 years ago does not mean he's obligated to be in these.

Besides that little Order 66 incident, one of these fellas fought and died by millions for the Jedi for nearly a decade.
3 years is nearly a decade now?
