Now 'decapitator' thats a name...
YT2400 & VT49 UK stock shortages
Mind you, Dave, .. thats a name too but the VT49 'Dave' would sound rubbish.

I dunno Dave the tv channel is pretty good.
Dark Sphere in London have already sold out of their entire allocation, i don't think they even got to put any on the shelves!
My local store had almost sold out fro pre orders alone on the Davimator. Less so on the outrider i think.
Its more choosing a name that say 'really ineffective'
Decimation was a roman ritual punishment for units that had performed badly or dishonourably in battle. One man in ten was chosen to be killed by his squad mates.
At the very least it means 'inflicting 1 in 10 casualties on the enemy'
I mean thats not *very* awe inspiring.
Oh no.. we're up against decimators!
Thats ok we've a 90 per cent chance of getting out of this unscathed.

It somewhat depends upon your point of view. A more ruthless form of psychological control is hard to imagine. Many armies have used decimation or equivalent tactics for troop control over the millennia, and it seems quite fitting a sentiment to name an empire ship with.
No news for us auzzies
No news for us auzzies
Good Games has been saying that they themselves expect delivery around the 28th. Which would mean (after processing etc) any store provided by them should expect around Dec 4-5... sigh.
It's worse for Imperial Assault, apparently. They aren't expecting to have that until Feb 2015?!?!?!?!?! Due to some sort of licensing problem? That's what I've been told anyway.
Cheers
My local store has told me that there are no more wave 5 expected into the UK this side of Xmas so good job I picked up one of each from them today as they are now out of stock.
I'm struggling to see that it relates to the snow in the US as they clearly got one or more containers through to esdevium in the UK albeit carrying a lot less wave 5 than expected!
Apparently the stock shortage is down to Esdevium being a bit crap at ordering enough.

Wouldn't it be quite scary? Not only because you know how motivated they'll be to win, but also cos you know the weakest of them are constantly weeded out?
To be fair, FFG aren't advertising them as available yet, they still say shipping.
Book Depositary had Decorators available for £20 for about five minutes, but I missed it transferring money about
Decorators?
is that what we are calling them now?
THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR CHOOSING A NAME THAT'S HARD TO SPELL!
I think it might catch on ![]()

I was told that Esdevium received much less that they ordered so had to cut down on the amounts sent to retailers, so reasons probably lie with FFG
I found a decimator in a shop that had no problems at all getting it's order. I suspect Esdevium either screwed up some shops orders or didn't order enoughin from FFG and had to do retail 'triage'.

I think th squadmate was chosen by lottery and his contubinium (tent group) carried out the punishment.
The point is 'decimation' is a very low level of casualties
if you say the enemy were 'decimated'
Most armies consider 20 per cent casualties acceptable, moving up to about 60 per cent in urban warfare
in like , full on war.. not the sort we're in now.
I preordered my Decimator months ago and there still weren't enough distributed to receive mine. Ordered the YT-2400 a couple of weeks ago and it came today though, so there's that.
Still, less than half of the stock reaching the UK on time doesn't look very good for FFG's distribution methods. And there's no knowing when we're getting more this side of the pond...

I think you're focusing on the archaic meaning of the word, rather than the contemporary meaning, like people do with myriad. And what's more, I think you know full well that that's what you're doing ![]()

I can't help but notice that Esdevium are part of Asmodee...
It wasn't so long ago that the official release of a previous wave consisted of no more than 3 units being shipped to each UK retailer that had pre-ordered - with the remainder of the pre-ordered stock arriving a week or two later.
So if we all stay calm and rational about this, we'll realise it's probably just business as usual.
Of course I'm neither calm nor rational so I've decided that this can only be a deliberate plot by the illuminati who have taken a German U-Boat crew out of suspended animation on one of their bases on the dark side of the moon, convinced them that the war isn't over and let them loose in the Atlantic Ocean

So much for the "merger" improving European distribution...

We will get them at some point, although i have mine turning up tomorrow or Friday so im good.
I think it's a FFG problem. It's been late this time out.
Huh, found it for the same price ins tock on another shop, so now I have a VT-49 Decimator I didn't preorder on the way. Cancelled my pre-order one, of course, so someone else can get that one.
Edited by Hylian100For those of our US cousins wondering what on earth we're on about a few years ago the UK rail network ground to a halt because of snow on the tracks, when queried about contingency plans in place for a type of weather you sort of get every year in the UK and that countries like germany and norway have no issues with a spokesman said it was the 'wrong type of snow'
We've also had trains cancelled because of 'leafs on tracks'
Usually trains are cancelled though because we have a woefully inadequate and overpriced system that is entrenched in the vicotrian era... we still have 'first class' carriages which are about three times the cost of a normal seat, usually consist of totally empty carriages as hardly anyone is that foolish to pay more for six inches more legroom and a free cup of tea and to really make us all love the rail service when its rush hour they put on a train of six carriages, three of which are first class so everyone is crammed into the other three as you get fined for using first class with a standard ticket even if you're disabled and otherwise have to stand up in 'standard'.
There is a reason why people dont stop using cars and get on the trains in the uk
right OT rant over...
As an aside I just had an emergency job today that involved filling two UP locomotives with fuel cause they ran out 50 miles from the next yard. It always happens on the windy cold days I swear.
