Have you seen this man? (Part II)

By SlaveofChrist, in X-Wing

Dear Fantasy Flight Games & my fellow X-Wing Miniatures fans,

When I saw that Boba Fett had a new persona in the Scum and Villainy Faction, I immediatly thought of two characters for a crossover. One, Han Solo as a member of the Scum and Villainy faction (before he took his commission from Obi-Wan Kenobi) and two IG-88 as a member of the Empire (when he took a commission from Darth Vader as a Bounty Hunter).

I am hoping that you are checking this out Fantasy Flight (like my first post on a Crew Member Han Solo "Have you seen this man?" - thanks for providing him by the way :) !!!) and would consider doing this as well.

Here is Han Solo as a member of the Scum and Villainy faction before he got involved with Luke and Ben Kenobi.

Feedback, as always, is welcome. Cheers :D .

Because what I read when I see Meta discussion, is that we need more Falcons...

A pilot skill 9, that has a special ability that would be wasted in almost every single game. Not a fan. A better ability would be him dumping his cargo at the first sign of an Imperial Cruiser.

Discard a crew or modification card to gain a free boost or evade action.

If George Lucas had anything to say about it it would be that if Greedo is crew on an opposing ship, Han does not shoot first.

Once per round, you may perform one free action at the beginning of either the planning, activation, or end phase.

Make it a pre-Falcon Han. I don't want scum to get Falcons.

I think Scum Han's ability should be a movement ability similar to Imp Boba Fett.

"At the start of the Activation Phase you may select this Pilot's PS level (between 0-12) for Activation."

Scum Han is a Smuggler not a "Hero of the Rebellion" he's looking out for himself and himself only; and Chewie because who wants an upset Wookiee?

Also being of the "smuggling" verity I'd say the scum YT's would have 2 illicit slots rather than 1.

The Smugglers should be "Utility" whereas the Bounty Hunters and Pirates should be Brute Force

I don't think there should be a Scum Han. I just can't see him teaming up with bounty hunters to kill Luke and his Rebels.

Or to put it another way, Dash Rendar is Wave V, they must have known about the planned Wave VI new faction by then. Dash is a mercenary with very few loyalties beyond credits and revenge, far more suited to the Scum faction, and he's Rebel Only.

For the Scum version, something involving the Segnor loop? K-turns are kind of his signature maneuver after all.

How about if he's within an enemy firing arc he may take a free boost action to the left and only left.

If George Lucas had anything to say about it it would be that if Greedo is crew on an opposing ship, Han does not shoot first.

But..., if you make a scum Han Solo..., he can have Greedo as a crewmember!

That would be...odd...., wouldn't it?

I don't know. I always kinda had the impression that Han had no particular dislike for Greedo when he shot him, it was just business. Not that they were friends or anything, just 'here's another guy who works for the same guy I do', so I don't think it would be unreasonable for the two of them to have occasionally worked together prior to one of them murdering the other.

The ability should be to boost as a free action that causes stress, kind of push the limit combined with a limited engine upgrade, since Scum Han was famous for making the Kessel run.

The scum ability is highly situational, but it is useful in that it'll trump all other PS 9+ regardless of iniative

Still, if Rebel Han (who's already pretty selfish, imo) can already crush Phantoms just by looking at them, this proposed ability might be overkill :P

If you want a "shoot first" deal, follow the scum Firespray tradition and up the damage :D

Maybe something along the lines on "When shooting at an enemy, if that enemy has Han in their firing arc and vice-versa, add one (critical hit) to your roll."

"The first time per round that Han is declared the Target of an attack, before the attack is made he may roll 1 attack dice. Apply the result as damage to the attacking ship"

There you go. Han shoots first.

That time paradox. Pre-OT Han fighting Tie Phantoms and Defenders.

it'll be fine. Its not like we've got directives to follow; of the prime or temporal variety.

actually, i was thinking of putting some "prime directives" into my campaigns. hahaha. to make them more story oriented and thematic.

I would make him a shuttle pilot instead of a YT-1300 pilot. Any EU buffs know what ship he piloted before he won the Falcon?

There's unfortunately no art for it.

Ah, Give him the Tydirium, he can pilot a shuttle right!

Shuttle Tydirium is solidly a rebel ship :P

Also pretty sure Chewie flew it with back-seat assistence from Han. "I don't know...fly casual!"

Incidentally

"Chewbacca, Lamba-Class Shuttle. Ps 5, enemies attacking you treat their attacks as if they were made at Range 3."

(keep your distance, Chewie, but don't look like you're keeping your distance...)

Well that I'd have an advantage when attacking you at range 5 with my Corvette

Han just can't be in the same faction as Boba. That would just be too weird having him buddy up with Fett or Xisor...

So far it looks like S&V won't have any PS9 pilots or ships with primary turrets. This would be a big departure from that.

The first wave of Rebels didn't either. We really don't know where they are going to go with this faction just yet.
