So what happens if you ignore yourself?

I don't have any problems with people who disagree with me and I'm happy about any discussion that bears some fruit.

There are people who disagree with me, and that's fine as long as they bring their A-game. There are also people who shout their opinions randomly without really thinking, and that's annoying but I'm willing to put up with it. There are people who are consistently entertaining even when they're not on topic, and that's also okay with me.

But we've also seen an influx of new people over the past few months, and of those there have been a handful that really contribute nothing but random loud noises, as well as an even smaller number that appear actively interested in bullying and disrupting ongoing conversations.

IMO, those people are why the ignore function exists, and merely stating your frustration and asking how to use it is a totally reasonable thing to do.

Sincerely, thank you for this information. I have anxiety about even coming to this forum anymore but I really do want to learn, discuss, and share about xwing.

I notice that I'm getting cruel messages on my YouTube videos that are happening immediately following being trolled and pushed around here. That and unsolicited negative personal messages really make this place toxic.

I very much wish the moderators were more directly involved and took more final action with the more callous and aggressive members. For now, this is a good defensive tool. I wish this were more clearly known.

Right so putting yourself on ignore is the same thing as drinking too much tequila...

I cant find the "ignore preferences" does a person have to have a minimum number of posts or something in order to ignore.

Don't feed the trolls and hit the report button. Mods came down pretty hard this week it seems. Forums seem totally readable again. Thank You Mods, wherever you are!

I dunno. All of the most recent craziness occurred as a result of the Gen Con announcements. I think I'll be alright if they take their sweet time spoiling... well, whatever's next.
