I saw that some users here said they were ignoring certain other users. I've tried to find a button or setting for that but wasn't successful. Can anybody please tell me how to do that?

That way browsing the forums here hopefully will become a more enjoyable thing again. It's a shame that the threads with the most pages here are usually the ones with the least amount of actual content. Instead there's just page after page of some user's trolling/bullying/egotistical verbiage which doesn't contribute anything to anything. Also there's just no sense in discussing with these people since that way they achieve what they wan't - to get attention - so they just won't stop it. What appalls me further is that those losers are also the ones with the most likes.

I'm sick of this and since there are no moderators here apparently it has come down to leaving the forums or ignoring said users.

I just skip to the next post when I see a name I wish to ignore. And even a broken clock is right twice a day, so reading someone you wish to ignore might bring you to an understanding that you might've missed otherwise.

Yeah please don't go, the forum needs as many polite, genuine gamers as possible. I must admit I do get caught up in the spam sometimes, but every good user this forum loses is a step in the wrong direction. Ignore for the win.

The unfortunate thing is that even when being ignored, they can still derail your threads.

That's a matter of perspective. Some might say they even like to flaunt their "likes".

I won't place someone on ignore because I don't like what they say. There are some here I very much disagree with on some non game related topics. But those people I would and do converse with freely on other topics. Nobody needs to be ignored, banned, banished, leave, etc... This after all and foremost a game forum.

Sincerely, thank you for this information. I have anxiety about even coming to this forum anymore but I really do want to learn, discuss, and share about xwing.

I notice that I'm getting cruel messages on my YouTube videos that are happening immediately following being trolled and pushed around here. That and unsolicited negative personal messages really make this place toxic.

I very much wish the moderators were more directly involved and took more final action with the more callous and aggressive members. For now, this is a good defensive tool. I wish this were more clearly known.

I didn't mention the users by name I have now set to ignore, nor will I do that. If you feel I've also addressed you with my words I can't help that.

The kind of people I would like to ignore here are the ones who in my eyes just show a bad behaviour toward others and don't contribute something valuable to the forums.

I'm also active in some other forums - two of those are also X-Wing forums - and nowhere else did I witness anything like what a small group of users is able to do here around. It's getting on my nerves to have to deal with this crap in a growing number of threads while all I want is to read about X-Wing related topics and talk/discuss with other users. So my personal feeling is that it has come down for me to either just leaving here or ignoring some users instead. Leaving would be a pity due to everyone here who has some manners and shows respect for the opinions of others so I wanted to know how to ignore users. Apparently I'm not the only feeling this way.

But with that said I was merely pointing out that you calling those you want to block losers because you don't like their posts and are counter productive.

Imo calling forum members no matter who they are losers is also counter productive and imo no better than those you want to block.

So I see it as a hypocritical way.

I just want to add that for the most part this is a great community.

I've been on a lot of different message boards and honestly this one has been on of the best with an lot of very helpful and constructive discussions.

However with that said as something gets more popular and more and more join, your bound to get some that like to stir the pot

Yes, it's possible to un-ignore.

And even when you do have someone on your ignore list, you still have the option to view their posts. It's just that they come up as a white bar on your screen. It tells who's posting, that they are on your ignore list, and gives you the option to view the post anyway.
