Really excited about the SCV Fett. What do you guys think are going to be some interesting options we might see from him? I think we might see some cluster missles on him, maybe with deadeye and recon specialist. Could be really good at taking a 5 or 6 hp ship down really fast.
New Boba Fett Ideas
It's hard to say without seeing more of the S&V upgrades.
I figure running him with Recon spec and then shoving him straight down the enemies throat will make him pretty tanky. I'm hoping he gets some kind of illicit advanced sensors type thing too.

Only for the Illicit slot, the other slots are upgrade types we've got most of the cards for, so there's enough to build with (although you're right in that some of the best combos we'll won't know until Autumn when they put the previews up)

I expect that Recon Specialist will continue to be popular, as will Engine Upgrade.
He'll be a good user of Cluster Missiles, at least at Range 1, although I wonder if those points might not be better spent elsewhere. He might be able to run Proton Rockets + Countermeasures effectively as well, although that's an expensive pairing for a one-time attack. I think the biggest problem with missiles remains that they can only be used in the front arc.
For that reason, I'm wondering about Outmaneuver: outflank or overrun your opponent with EU, then attack at Range 1 with Fett's reroll as a modification and Outmaneuver to pull away a defense die.
I just find it funny that Boba is like:
"Ok, time to work for the Empire now"
*Takes the illegal upgrade and hides it in the cargo hold*

Depending on what the other pilots abilities are ill probably go
Fett - Recon, Predator, Engine
Kath - Recon, Predator, Engine
for 97 points and see what the new upgrades/pilots are like, maybe swap Boba's predator for something else but not sure
Anti-pursuit lasers? Run in and mix it up, and punish anyone who gets sloppy and runs into your large base.
Fett with Lone Wolf? That way you get rerolls at all ranges if you're running by yourself.

I agree, Fett seems to be made for Lone Wolf. This makes him a good flanker. Rerolls when he's away from the group, and by the time he's close to the group he gets rerolls from his pilot ability.
Maybe a tiny gap at range 2, but a bit of good manoeuvring should minimize the chances of that.
Edited by kerokoBoba Fett- Lone Wolf, Gunner, Inertia Dampeners.
Then cram in a bunch of z-95s or Sycks.
I don't understand why so many people are proposing upgrades that provide Scummy Fett with rerolls. His pilot ability is built around rerolls; it seems more effective to either let him convert focus results to hits, or figure out ways to trigger his pilot ability more often.

Outmaneuver then, one more point and a good chance to trigger it cuz of the back arc.
Edited by TheGreedyMerchantLone Wolf lets him get rerolls when there's nothing within range 1. But aside from that, Engine Upgrade would seem like a logical choice. Gets you into range 1 faster.
So nobody else thinking expert handling on him to jump range bands and with rerolls not really have to worry about the loss of action?

I prefer boost to barrel roll+stress, but it could definitely be effective.

I agree. Given the re-rolls apply offensively and defensively, Recon Specialist seems like a great buy, and I'd want some form of repositional relief given his ability is dependant on range and he has such a high PS.
Consider: Fett (39) + Recon Specialist (3) + Engine (4) + Push the Limit (3)
If you're concerned with Phantoms in the meta, you could swap out the Push the Limit for a Veteran Instincts. Alternately, Outmaneuver could be used instead of PTL, although I like the defensive tankiness provided by being able to push for double focus, an evade AND defensive rerolls. And finally, can season with a Seismic Charge for 2 points if you have room in the build.

This was also my thinking as well at first, you're getting rerolls regardless of range (and assuming Fett is off by his lonesome) and also if you're at range 1 of just one ship, you'd be getting at least two rolls.
Also concerning phantoms, I rather like rebel captive as it stops the recloak.
(Unless Yorr is riding along side like in that nationals champ list!)

Yeah, Predator and Lonewolf are way too redundant with his innate ability, so skip those. I'll probably work him with Engine Upgrade and Outmaneuver, try to maximize punishing R1 shots, or even just Veteran Instincts and Engine Upgrade. Funnily enough, giving him a Navigator or Stay On Target may not be a bad choice given that he is a self-contained engine of destruction.
I say simply slap intimidation on him. With his current effect, you will be flying pretty aggressively, and on a large base ship it can get quite easy to accidentally overlap someone. Hence, Intimidation would work best here, even if you cant shoot at the target, someone else will
Ruthlessness!!!!!! but I think its Imp only.
Edit: It is Imp only! Dang it that would be sweet on Scum Fett.
Edited by TheGreedyMerchantI think it would be cool to include some of his other ships. I mean there is more than just the Slave 1.
