Didn't that game do some pretty weird things for the canon? I haven't played it, but I really can't over Vader having an apprentice or the powers shown by this guy. Ship looks cool though.

The force powers weren't really too different from the ones in Jedi Knight. And Vader having an apprentice isn't too out of canon as that is what he offered Luke as well.

The name 'Starkiller' has turned me off. It sounds too much like Sun Crusher. However, I'm willing to give things shot if convinced.
