Also doesn't mean you have to buy into the 3rd faction to use the Y-wing and Z-95 aces box. Unless everything in it is "3rd faction only"
To Be Announced Friday Afternoon: Westin Capitol III@12:00 <EOM>
phew almost went overboard with the z-95s... bought 4 more for total of 6 the other day for the MM sale...
2 more will make an even 8... waaay better than having 9 interceptors ![]()
I like that approach on the Firespray and HWK--presumably the conversion kit will be pretty affordable. Wave 6 is going to be a meta-earthquake.
Wow. This is cool.
I think we'll see Huge ships at the end.
Maybe?

I hope
Wonder what a HWK and Firespray 'conversion' actually is...
probably new pilots and base tiles
yes, I get that. I don't see how it improves the two player game in any way.
Instead of making me choose this third faction -- thereby excluding all the rebel and imperial ships from consideration during squad building, why not just give me direct access to the ships? Or even better -- let this third faction be neutral so that either rebel or imperial can draw upon them in their squad building? This would give more combinations and possibilities, and would be much more interesting in a two player game.
Still don't get it.
I won't quit, but I really don't understand the third faction for a two player game.
You do realize three factions doesn't mean you have to play with three players, right? Warhammer is a two-player game, how many factions does it have?
At this point I'd be surprised. Unless they consider Epic to be a different product line.
SO how is the Descent line the number 1 selling board game for FFG and then later X-wing is the number one selling board game period? Each ship is technically an expansion same as non Descent base games.
Technically they are both FFG.
Venn Diagram fail, unless X-wing is not FFG?
Sad at no Runebound 3rd edition =(
Really hoping they pull a "just one more thing" and show an imperial huge ship at the end.... ![]()
xwing isn't a board game, it's a miniatures game.
No huge Imp ship :-(
YET... yet...
Really no surprise that it happened... I think epic is going to have trouble keeping up with Armada around... I still hope we see a few more Huge Ships though. Hey, It's only Friday!
I agree... If anything I figured they'd come out with "neutral" ships that fought for either side... That's easier on the fiction too... Never the less I'll be buying two of everything.
Note that if it is a true third faction, that means the scum and villainy pilots can't be used to bolster your Rebel pilots even though they're in Y-wings and Z-95s. The miniatures themselves I'm sure you can mix up with, same with the EPTs and such that are generic -- as most are --, but the pilots themselves remain dedicated.
-- Unless they can be 'hired out' by either side but I doubt it since they didn't say as much.
Still, Y-wing buffs!
I'm really surprised about the lack of an Imperial Huge.
More surprised at the lack of an Imperial Aces-style release to fix the Advanced.
Pleasantly surprised about Scum and Villiany, and Really excited about Iggy!
So maybe Wave 5.5 is a "Rebel Aces" sort of thing that has Z-95s, a Y-wing, and new cardboard for HWK and Firespray-31...
Then Wave 6 is 4 new "Scum and Villainy" ships.
Nice!
Leaves room (and precedent) for a "re-branding" of the CR90 as an Imperial vessel.
Wonder what a HWK and Firespray 'conversion' actually is...
Probably templates and pilot cards? So you don't have to buy whole new ones for the S+V pilots.
Not entirely surprised as the M3-A Scyk is on the Intimidation art in the Decimator, and they are all about foreshadowing. Strange that the y-wing fixes are in a 3rd party box, but as they also announced that the Firespray and Hwk can be converted, perhaps the rules allow the new Y-wing stuff to be used with Rebels.
All in all, looking forward to seeing these on the table. Also, the briefing isn't over yet, there may still be an imperial huge.
Sad there probably will not be an Imperial EPIC ship... really does just poop on the huge ships...
Guess I shouldn't be surprised my LGS had 9 CR90s stacked the last time I was in... yet they are preprinting it... hmmm wonder how sales really went?

Bingo.
Unless they're implementing new squad building rules that let you use Scum and Villainy as its own faction or with an existing faction at an additional point cost.
I really think they'll announce huge imperial...they had Darth vader, 2 storm troopers, 2 imperial officers at least walking around the booth yesterday. I felt like they were hinting at something...
What are the ships in the new faction picture.
They look like a Y-wing and z95
Okay, so we can (barely) see the images on the Twitter Feeds. Are we getting any information from people who heard what was being said?
I'm somewhat tickled by the 3rd faction stuff. While I supported it from the get-go, the argumentation about it kind of turned me off the idea. (I'm also not a Xizor fan.)
Also, I think this is a win for the people who read the entrails card art. I kinda think that's cool. ![]()
Still, I wanted me an Imperial huge. ![]()

They are.
