Its for the Awing Swarm.

Tycho + Stay on Target + Wingman + Awing Test Pilot + Refit

Jake + Stay on Target + Wingman + Awing Test Pilot + Refit

Avrel + Stay on Target + Awing Test Pilot + Refit

Gemmer + Stay on Target + Awing Test Pilot + Refit

Thats some flipping and hard to pin down ships that eat each other's stress.

Prediction: Most people are going to call this OP until they try it, then they're going to realize they need to destress every other turn and (aside from Farlander) and then go back to using what they were previously using.

That said it will still be very powerful in a few different combos.

EVERYBODY FETTIGATE

So does this + Navigator mean you go wherever you want, or is it like Cloaking with Advanced Sensors and decloaking has been ruled as one or the other?

This might be the wine talking, but I expect that both Navigator and Stay on Target are triggered, and you can resolve them in whatever order you please. (With Cloak + Advanced Sensors, your decloak can't be triggered because you aren't cloaked when you reveal your dial.)

And now I might reiterate: EVERYBODY FETTIGATE.

Keep in mind you are still able to use advanced sensors and decloak in the same turn, you just can't cloak and then immediately decloak.

Rule question time. How does this work with R2 astromech and Nien Numb? what takes over, making maneuver red or green?

Is mentioned in the article that R2 Astromech DOES NOT change the new maneuver from red to green. In general, if a effect increases difficulty, it takes precedence.

If you have this on Boba with a Navigator can you change your dial to any manuever?

The article said R2 does not have any effect on the maneuver.

There's Another interesting point, it says treat as a red maneuver, not receive a stress token like most EPTs.

So why do we think they worded it that way?

-Tycho won't be able to abuse it. (But as pointed out this really mostly helps ships like X-Wings that can't generally do positioning actions so Tycho wasn't likely to have it anyways)

-If you forget you have a stress, you can still change your maneuver...and then your opponent gets to just pick one for you.

-Avoids potentially complicated timing issues with when that stress token acquisition happens w/r to actions, check pilot stress, etc?

-Syncs with future pilots who have skills related to performing red maneuvers (as opposed to merely obtaining stress tokens)?

-???

It's late here, and I'm fairly tired, but it seems to me that just this plus navigator would do it. Use navigator to change to the speed you want, then use Stay On Target to change the maneuver type (straight, bank, turn).

That looks pretty cool. One tiny thing that irritates me, not really about that card, but both of the cards designed by champs: why did they both come with the Rebel guy?

Wellt he other cards is Dash so it must be Rebel and the YT-2400 to boot. As for 'Stay on Target,' I think that's just the inevitable result of the fluff of it being a memorable Rebel line. Really, I'm sure FFG has comparable cards that are just as cool coming with the Decimator (WHAT DOE THE TACTICAL JAMMER DO? INTIMIDATE? RUTHLESSNESS?) so I'm not that worried. That being said, I will say that this is the first time I've found myself feeling like I'm being 'invited' to purchase more than I'll need of a ship for the cards I want. As an EPT, it works well on every size ship and is unquestionably good --nevermind the novelty of it being designed by a player(!) -- so putting it in a large ship few people will want more than 2 of at most seems kind of lame.

That being said, wave 4 was surely locked in already and they'd otherwise have to wait for the next small ship to come out. That seems down the line a bits so I can see them just wanting to get it out there, especially if Dash is the other player designed card and the Outrider was already slotted.

I don't supposed some people will want everything but that card and are interested in setting up a trade...

Stay on Target

Push the Limit

Comes in at 29 pts and there's still room for a mod. Or maybe switch PTL out for outmaneuver to really give him some punch. Maybe but the proton rocket on him for 34 pts total. Either way this is a ship to be feared.

"Stress? What stress?"

Boba Fett obsolescence? More Phantom hate? Sure, why not.

That was my first thought too. Boba is pretty much useless now and that's a shame.

I like the card tho.

Maybe they will re-print Boba Fett now in a new Faction with some different text?

Boba gets it for free and can still take an EPT like predator.

As for phantom hate, sure it is an interesting option, but is it really better than VI? Also, stressing a phantom with ACD is a bad idea...

Boba could also be interesting with this card. It effectively allows him to turn speed 1-, 2- or 3- straights and turns into normal banks.

You take a 2-turn to the left, but decide you want to go right. With this card, you can change your maneuver to a 2-bank to the left. That one's a red maneuver. BUT, Boba can now use his ability to change it to a 2-bank to the right, which is still going to be a white maneuver.

Now add a Navigator, and you can change speeds on top of everything.

"Stress? What stress?"

"... oh, the stress that means my opponent gets to pick my move whenever I try to use Stay on Target. That stress."

Well, just when I thought I was going to get away with only 1 of each Wave 5 ship. This looks incredibly strong on a number of ships. I don't think the Interceptor wants to give up PtL, but pretty much everything else looks like it will get a lot of use out of SoT. Anything with a 2- or 3-K sounds especially nice; I like the idea of having a K-turn and up to 5 regular moves available at any time.

I both really like, and hate this card.

I like what it does.

I hate what it does to my favorite ships.(Phantoms and the Fettigator)

All in all I think this with Navigator is going to wind up a little too good, if we ever get a ship that can really make use of the combo on a diverse dial. Farlander with both is going to be mean. I may have to buy a second YT-2400 to get two....

Love that this will really make high skill pilots seem like the killers they are in game. Great idea. Finally there will be a palpable difference between generics and uniques. Seeing Wedge or somebody with SOT coming at you will really be an 'oh sh*t' moment for generics. Well, more of one. And you'll never feel that moment as much as you should when it's Wedge, let's be honest.

Also, with SOT A-wings, Squints, and Phantoms just got a whole lot more slippery. Sure, everybody else did too. But can you imagine an Tycho, Jake, Turr, Whisper, and Echo with this? Even Gemmer and Jax to some degree.

Ok.. so who's buying 2 of each of the wave 5 ships.. lol.. this card is gonna be hot for some and cursed by others..

Boba Fett obsolescence?

Only as much as Outmaneuver makes Wedge obsolete. Or, Predator to Howlrunner. Or even Draw Their Fire makes Biggs obsolete.

There is a history of making EPTs that function as limited versions of named pilot abilities. These are just the first ones that come to mind.

I realized something. Stay on Target says treat that manuever as a red manuever. But if you Navigator off that manuever the resulting manuever is no longer red. So if my Falcon changes a 2 forward to 2 turn, then the 2 turn to a 1 turn no stress is given. I think this needs to be fixed...

Well, you are paying 5 points and giving up both a Crew and an EPT slot for the privilege. Might be self-balancing due to the fairly significant investment.

Besides, I don't really see a way to fix it without rewriting one or both cards or making a really strange ruling in regards to them.

The article says R2 doesn't switch it back to green, so I'm thinking navigator can't switch it to another color either.
