Stay on Target Preview
Be still my heart, I think I'm in love.
Thoughts?
I thought it was a logical high PS ept. Though, it does take a lot of the skill of guessing out of the game. Also, I think it helps rebels a little more as it opens up movement options for ships that might not have good changing options, like the X-wing. Also at a relatively cheap cost. The opportunity cost here is the main factor, in not being able to choose the other good options from EPT.
This will be great for Keyan Farlander!
Keyan + Advanced Sensors + Stay on Target = TL + F, or barrel roll + focus every turn
A nice write up, and I think it is awesome they asked the champ to throw ideas for a card.. that rocks.
Thanks for posting this link.
Boba Fett obsolescence? More Phantom hate? Sure, why not.
- This card is awesome. It encourages more elite pilots over low PS swarms. I love it.
So, if you have both Navigator and Stay of Target, you have almost complete freedom of movement.
Because it's such a popular point if contention... Whisper is mentioned as "she"

It's almost like they knew people were going to complain that turrets were killing the game and taking the dogfighting aspect out of it... Weird!

That was my first thought too. Boba is pretty much useless now and that's a shame.
I like the card tho.

I don't think it makes Boba obsolete, but it is a nice skill to have.. and itnis only gonna make those Phantoms (and Defenders) much more deadly.

Boba gets it for free and can still take an EPT like predator.
As for phantom hate, sure it is an interesting option, but is it really better than VI? Also, stressing a phantom with ACD is a bad idea...

What do you think, pre-op or post-op? I'm telling you, the Empire is very forward thinking. Our Supreme Court won't event support reproductive health, but the Empire's comprehensive health coverage obviously pays for gender reassignment surgery. I'll trade an Antonin Scalia for a Darth Vader any day of the week.

Edited by JFunkThat looks pretty cool. One tiny thing that irritates me, not really about that card, but both of the cards designed by champs: why did they both come with the Rebel guy?
That wasn't much of a preview to me. Talked about the one card the whole time.
Definitely a powerful tool to slap on a high-PS guy.
One freaking amazing card. I don't mind it, because it is essentially a designer talking about their thought processes on a card.
I love this. It pretty much solves the complaints many have had about higher PS pilots being blocked. And I'm currently re-evaluating all my dials. Currently, I like the A-wing, Interceptor, E-wing, and Defender options. Suddenly, those red turns don't look quite as bad if you have the option to switch to them.
Kinda funny they spent so much of the article talking about phantoms... making phantoms more slippery is definitely a attractive concept until you think about what stress does to them...
I certainly like the idea of Keyan Farlander. Also maybe A-wings in conjunction with outmaneuver. Logical choice is Tycho but definitely don't want him doing red maneuvers.
There's Another interesting point, it says treat as a red maneuver, not receive a stress token like most EPTs.

While the defender doesn't like stress, being able to K-turn does mitigate it a bit. I could see this on Vessery.
This card is great; I loved hearing the designer's thoughts on it. I think small squads of elite ships will use this quite a bit - especially ships without Barrel Roll and/or Boost. This upgrade is perfect on the X-wing.
Curious if this + Navigator means change to which ever speed you can that matches your initial choice and then switch to any move at that speed? Expensive yes but puts it up there with an ACD phantom for maneuverability.
so how many YT-2400 to buy?
how many ships would you want to have stay on target?

Ditto. Ha ha ha.
