All,
Any and all arguments toward who the best investigator(s) is for solo play would be much appreciated! My inital solo games with Lily Chen haven't ended well...

I personally believe Lola is. She gets free bonuses to rolls and she also can adapt her stat improvements if you need to seal a gate vs combat.
But that's just my opinion. I don't solo myself.
Mark might be a solid choice against Shub.
*shrug*
Edited by SoakmanI play solo and manage to win all AO. Leo Anderson against Subby, Noman against Azatoth and Yog, Silas March against Chtulhu.
I just won a game (solo) against Azathoth using Lola. I definitely think there's a difference depending on the ancient on you're up against.
That's why here we choose our investigators BEFORE randomly pick an AO. This makes things a little harder and more real (you can choose your profession in real life, but you can't choose the enemy you may fight during real life).
LOL. Just a bit of RPG in a board game. ^^
By the way, my favorite character is Diana Stanley (not because she's the best, but because i like to have 5 dice to roll spells from the beginning, i also liked Charlie Kane. He's not good to solo a game, but his asset support for the other players is awesome. With given time, he "buys" almost all asset deck and distributes for the others).
Between Lola and Trish, you have a pretty good chance against 3 of the ancient ones, but Shub Niggurath is insane with the monster spawns. Harrigan doesn't have the sanity for solo against Shub... how about Stanley?
Nainphy,
"Just a bit of RPG in a board game."
This is very true,...for me with Arkham Horror , but your point is well taken!
Cheers,
