Well, FFG does have a degree of notoriety for copypasting content between 40k games. If I had a nickel each time I found a mention of a DH/RT/DW skill in a BC/OW book... I'd have a few nickels, I guess, but it's one of these things that really stand out for some people.

Yes, because when they made Only War they just copied and pasted the Black Crusade rules and when they made Black Crusade, they just copied and pasted the Deathwatch rules...

Well... They pretty much did, didn't they? OW is like an Imperial BC + aptitudes and regimental creation (sans the fluff of course).

If only... But no. There is a whole lot of copy-pasting going on in the four later cores, but there's such significant mechanical changes between them than all five are mutually incompatible.
I guess I should be hoping the re-beta will fix that, now that it no longer seems like it will be a new system.

No, they didn't. BC has the core combat mechanics in common, and that's about it- everything relating to characters is significantly different. Plus Comrades, Vehicle Rules, Requisition, etc.
I was pretty irate when it was announced that Only War was being changed from a Dark Heresy supplement into a stand-alone game, since I assumed it would just be a Copy/Paste of the BC rules, but I admit that I was wrong, and OW definitely brought enough new stuff to the table to justify being made into its own game.
I don't have much doubt that an OW -compatible DH2 will continue the tradition of each game being distinctly different from the previous one, and adding lots of new goodies...

Hope they keep the Talent trees and the Psychic Power trees! Those things were, like, the best parts of the Failed Beta!
Anyways, end of November is almost here, i hope to get my hands on a polished beta by this weekend!
