For my own campaign? I'll be keeping with the material as presently published.
Dave Filoni says Stormtroopers suck
Actually, don't non-Stormtrooper infantry appear guarding the bunker on Endor?
LucasDisney Prime? I don't understand. Is Kathleen Kennedy an awesome transforming robot?
... man, what is wrong with you?
Don't open that can of worms...

Not according to an animated tv series that no one has seen yet.
LucasDisney Prime? I don't understand.
We should start a club!

10 out of 14 standing... That is hardly "some". That is the vast majority...
When I look at that picture, all I can think of is, "If you go down to the woods, today..."
I personally don't like the idea of there being Imperial army infantry, I see them more as officers and vehicle pilots. Potentially also cooks and medics and all the other positions within a military. Stormtroopers are infantry, the army drives the mechs, the navy flies the ships, to put it simply, and this seems to fit with what's shown in the films.
That said, the Imperial army does very much so still exist. There are still soldiers who've received basic training and serve the army without being Stormtroopers/infantry. I see no reason why the stats should be removed from the book.

If only more of us where this reasonable...
If only.
If EricB's anticts amuse you, you should Google "Dai Grepher Metroid" and read up on "Dai Grepher" who, across the internet, with the same obstinacy as ErikB, tried to convince people that the game Metroid Zero Mission was NOT a remake of the original Metroid. That's the main reason I'm even bothering to participate in this discussion, as it gives me nostalgic feelings for the good old days on VGF.com where it all began. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Dai Grepher and ErikB were the same person.

Those are stormtroopers in their underwear.

While said in jest, this could very well be a stormtrooper when not in front line combat gear.

Except the problem is - they're not clones. Therefore they cant be unshelled stormtroopers.
Can we make 45?

Not all Stormtrooper are clones at the time of the Original Trilogy, however.

Originally, back in 1978 or thereabouts Stormtroopers were established as clones (I'll go find the source if you need me too - I've already cited it upthread). The Non-Clone stormtroopers didn't start being written into the universe until much much MUCH later, and well after Return of the Jedi had wrapped production.
Therefore, anyone appearing on film that isn't a clone (AKA, those guys in the Imperial Pajamas) are not Stormtroopers.
You're starting to sound like EricB now, dude.
Oh, now what did I ever do to you for you to get so insulting? There's no need for THAT kind of namecalling!
Edited by DesslokThe issue of stormtroopers being clones in '78 is not necessarily an issue
In '77 Han fired first (and always will) and that was changed (except in the eyes of the fans). So stormtroopers being non clone frontline infantry troops may very well end up being the truth (from a certain point of view). Time will tell which Expanded universe and canon sources will hold up.

As for stormtroopers vs army, I seen the stormtroopers as akin to the USMC or Spetznaz... First in, best equipped, fanatically loyal, and first on the scene.... While the Army comes in later, mops up, and holds what the Stormtroopers took. I do find it interesting that the arty are a separate service... looks very Soviet Russian to me.

It is pretty clear already from what they have said that this is what LucasPrime Center is going with. And it is probably something FFG could ask the licencing people about, given that the Rebels panel at NYCC talked about how the show is going to present the Empire a bit already.

I think Kenner toys may have a greater impact on the show than the old EU. They have already said that this thing:-
is going to appear as this:-
And stormtrooper blasters are going to have a hump on top of the barrel, because the Kenner stormtrooper blasters had one (see pic of toy above).

I admittedly find something morbidly funny in this comparison due to the jokes about how M y A ss R ides I n N avy E quipment...
