Amen to this!
Dave Filoni says Stormtroopers suck
You can do whatever you want, but FFG are going to have to get past the approvals process which may well mean losing the non-stormtooper army, especially if LucasDisney are serious about trying to make things more cohesive than they have been in the past.
Just when I thought I had seen it all...
The old EU is dead. The New Regime don't care any more about staying true to it than Lucas himself did.
What I think LucasDisney might be is a bit more... Hands On about ensuring that people only draw from Official Sources and not the old EU.

The movies are not the EU...
Edited by DanteRotterdamDoubt it.
Looking at the back at the figure names nothing mentions an imperial army. There is concept art from rebels that shows what looks like the at-st driver outfit with a stormtrooper like face mask.
There is also a propaganda poster for the show that has stormtrooper helmets and aurebesh writing that translates to 'Be a part of tomorrow today'. Which seems like an army recruitment poster.
FFG is probably not privy to any info abpit the show yet and therefore can't put forward anything other than what they know. ErikB does have a point (scarybto agree with him somewhat) in that stormtroopers may end up being the imperial army.
I still doubt that FFG will suddenly go back on their previous books, especially when they're meant to work with one another seamlessly. Especially for a cartoon - it'd be like WEG or WotC ammending their write up of Ewoks in order to make it fit with the old, children's television show.

Nor the LEGO minifigures.

They do this guy, who is a "Death Star Trooper"
Some chaps like this who are "Imperial Officers"
and guys like this who are "AT-ST drivers"
The haven't done an Imperial Army trooper, which I think is another sign that as far as LucasDisney Prime is concerned there aren't any.
Edited by ErikBStill asking you to paste provisions of the contract since you continue to claim to know the contents of it.
...is he really trying to win his argument using LEGO figurines?

Only in as much as I think it gives a better idea of what LucasDisney thinks is pure 'official canon', uncorrupted by EU sources.

You might "think", but as you've shown your power of deduction and inference is at the very best sub-standard. Even with good information you manage to basically shred it to pieces and then build it into nonsense and irrelevancies based on your own wishful thinking and lack of hermeneutic ability... your rhetoric and arguments are so silly and stupid it's awesome to witness, it's like de-evolution in progress... somehow you seem to be getting more stupid the longer you continue this...

So what FFG has currently published somehow slipped past them and should now be discarded? How stupid are you? Really?

It may well turn out that everything FFG have done so far (including the AoR beta) is effectively pre-Disney (and hence pre-discarding of the EU), and it is all certainly pre-Rebels.
Everything from now on, including the final AoR book, won't be.
Edited by ErikBNo, idiot, Disney has owned the rights for a while now. If they were so anal about the nitty-gritty that they handed to check each publication's fluff TO THE LETTER and for IDIOTIC THINGS LIKE THIS, then they would have done so before the book went to print.
... is there no reaching through to you? Are you just a complete idiot? How do you come up with this nonsense? Do you have a focus group?
The lego minifig names match up the original figure names.
Fantasy flight may not be told any info about what the new show may or may not validate or invalidate.
As to it being only a 'cartoon', that is unfair to say. There is a difference between a cartoon and something being animated. Animation, whether traditional or digital, is a medium. A cartoon is an animation done for satire or humour.
How about "it won't invalidate anything already in the movies"?
Point made and accepted regarding the definition of 'cartoon', Samophlange, but I concur with Dante.
lol at the idea that FFG is suddenly gonna scrap AoR as it's written in the Beta and start all over.
They won't. They'll work as they have been, and make awesome games (again, as they have been), without throwing all their notes out of the window because Erik demands that their material coincides with his one-dimensional view of the Star Wars galaxy.
lol at the idea that FFG is suddenly gonna scrap AoR as it's written in the Beta and start all over.
Who says they need to? I just think they should cross out "Imperial Army Dude" and write in "Basic Stormtrooper" so they don't conflict with the new TV show.
... man, what is wrong with you?
There is no conflict between AoR and the new show, because we don't know much about it, and your assumptions are way out of line of what can reasonably be assumed at this point, they have a foundation in the faecal flotsam that is your brain and has nothing to do with sound reasoning... or basic intellect.
And even if there is to be no imperial army dudes in the TV show that doesn't mean that AoR is in anyway in conflict with canon or the SW universe... it just means the TV show is showing us something else, but I've gathered that you don't understand this, it's too complex a thought for you.
Edited by JegergryteI think the idea of it being scrapped is going a little far. However, in the edge of the empire beta we had stats for the ghtroc freighter. That got replaced by the wayfarer. So changes can happen. How I plan on working it is the army troopers are now imperial militia.
The empire when bringing new planets into the fold, doesn't necessarily want to leave a garrison of stormtroopers, so they train and marginally equip a local militia with an imperial overseer.
This could work as a focal point to an campaign. The local rebel cell try to fight the misguided militia and upon defeating them, find they have been replaced by stormtroopers who don't have any issue of loyalty to friends/family that the militia might have faced from being locals.
Now this is all a big 'what if'. personally i'll go with my above scenario for drama purposes.

No, yes, let's let a doctor with a flashlight field this question, and see the previous answer.
