From LucasDisneys point of view they are making people happy that their favourite clone characters are good guys after all, and not related to the minions of evil who can't hit anything and get beaten up by teddy bears from the OT. For most people they are probably right.

For what, exactly, should he be banned? I ignore his posts, so I'm really asking. What specific violations of the board policy has he violated? If it's just because you don't enjoy his posts, Ignore!

But yea, the British Empire wasn't entirely bad, we did do a lot of good things too, and it now helps us even after the Empire, since so many countries are now run with the same languages and political systems as us, it makes it easier for us to deal with one another.

And agree about the empire. Modern revisionism is to teach it was wholly evil, but we did as many good things as bad.

Incidentally, the latest edition of the podcast in the op mentions that Disney have chosen not to renew licences for people to make slot machines based on their Marvel and Star Wars properties which were issued by the previous owners of such, on the grounds that gambling doesn't fit with their brand image.

He should be banned for constantly invoking real world tragedy and evil as a means of demonizing people playing a game differently or enjoying a fictional story differently.

But, to answer your question:

He should be banned for constantly invoking real world tragedy and evil as a means of demonizing people playing a game differently or enjoying a fictional story differently.

I see a topic with a large number of posts, so I looked at it. Then I see that many of them are on Ignore and I skip them, leaving me to read the large number of posts from those not on my list. I see those folks getting bent out of shape, so I encourage them to use Ignore so as to not to empower those that they feel are trolling. If you place such posters on your Ignore lists, i suspect that your issues with him will largely dissipate.

The solution to this would be to post more interesting topics for discussion rather than attempting to silence conversation that you feel has no value. Everyone has the right to post what they want (within the limits of the terms of service), but that doesn't mean anyone else has to pay attention to something that they don't want to.
