Falcons and firesprays wont fit in 1" depth.. So how did you get yours to fit?
Edited by SwedgeHow is this for a custom Battle Foam layout?
Falcons and firesprays wont fit in 1" depth..
My Rebel fleet tray is 1.5", all the other trays are 2". I checked and I can double stack two Falcons in the 2" tray, the radar dish on the top of the Falcon sits over the top just a little, but the foam topper absorbs it sufficiently enough to not cause a problem.
I know it's an odd choice, but I put my big ships in one tray and my small in another. So my falcon, shuttles, fire spray, and their cards, bases, and dials go in a 2 inch tray. Small ships in a 1.5 inch tray. And components in a 1.5 inch tray. Then I can get it all in a malifaux bag
I also put extra boxes and rectangles for future ships when they come out (hoping for a naboo fighter)
I was going to go with Battle-foam but thought I would throw this out there as an alternate. I found a Plano carrying case for fishing gear that had 4 removable trays and a large storage area in the top ($24.99) @ Kmart).
- 1 st tray is all Rebel (16 ships)
- 2 nd tray is all Imperial (18 Ships)
- 3 rd tray are templates and dice
- 4 th tray is Star Trek Attack Wing (15 Ships)
top is for over size templates, rule books, my GR75 transport and Kenner CR90 transport.
The whole thing cost me about a quarter of the BF stuff, is just as secure and safe. I also play a number of other CMG type games (Axis and Allies Land, Sea and Air, Hero Clix, Wings of Glory, etc.) and they all have there own trays and then depending on what I want to play at the store I just take down the trays from a shelving unit, stick them in the carrying case and I'm off. No muss no fuss. I must add that my particular model is no longer advertised on there website but I'm sure the newer versions will work just as well.
Odd question, but what are the blue and red cubes in the imperial and rebel component trays.

Those are pill containers. I have two sets of 3-tray containers for the Rebels (red) and the Empire (blue). They contain numbers 1-10 and the unique identifier tokens for the Falcon and Slave-1. Under those I have a larger white food container that keeps the rest of the numbers each divided evenly for the Rebels and the Empire. I figured I'd never need more than the first 10 numbers anyway, but I prefer to have everything on hand. :-)
Yes, old thread...
I have:
P.A.C.K 216
http://uk.battlefoam.com/star-wars-game-foam-kit-for-the-p-a-c-k-216-bf/
Thinking of ordering:
P.A.C.K Plus
I still need another place for second Falcon (but maybe I can stack it in the 216).
Also need foam for Transport/Tantive, but no idea how to design it.
How about this for all the small ships, with no overlaps.
It will fit:
7 TIE Fighters
7 Interceptors
2 Advanced
4 Phantoms
2 Defenders
4 Bombers
2 HWK
4 Y-Wings (stackable, 2 in each cavity)
6 A-Wings (stackable, 2 in each cavity)
4 B-wings
2 E-wings
8 X-Wing/Z-95 (Z-95's stackable)
Too cluttered? I feel like I wouldn't be surprised if they messaged me back and said it was too dense, haha.
Im gonna assume your a kiwi due to the NZ in your name, if so I would recommend going to slavetopainting.co.nz and just get one of the pick'n'pluck bags.
The shipping is less than $10NZ rather than the $50US you will probably pay just get to ship it here.
My one has everything in my Sig except for the CR90 and two 75's also four of each from wave 4(too lazy to update:-P)
my 720 layout:
Sorry for the urls but its the only way i can post on this site!!!!!! as what others have said you can double and triple stick some ships with no problems. like Y wings. Ties can be arranged in a single 1.5" line in my case i use two single 1,5"x 5" line to hold 12 ties. the big 3.5" squares hold the bases for the ships. 4 small bases or ONE big base can fit and then be stacked according to how thick the foam is.I think each base was like a 1/4" so its like 4 bases high for each base. the big bases may be a bit thicker. Two X wings can be stacked in a 1.5x 1.5" cube sticking nose up. I cut the backing foam so the engines would snug down and everything fits perfectly. my interceptors are double stacked as are the A E and Z wings I measured everything first to be sure. I had a shield bad but went up to a 720 because i out grew the shield bag and the Tantive wouldn't fit in it.I keep ALL the cards in a "Trapper Keeper" binder. it makes it very easy to pick out the upgrade and ship cards that i use. I use 2.5" coin slot pages for the smaller cards and regular trading card pages for the bigger cards. As for tokens and such I use a plano case that sits on the top section of my battle foam bag. The plano case is waaaaay more space efficient for item that don't need foam protection. Due to battle foam having a minim 1/4" thickness for each divider eats up a ton of space. A few things i recommend" when I go off to play a game that's NOT at my house I like to use a smaller system to carry JUST what i will be using instead of my rather huge fleet as my LOCAL game store gets very crowded!! I have been using the plano case again for this with my ships and cards that in need stuffed in with some extra pluck foam. also i take range rulers dice and everything needed for a game. However i will be up grading to a battle foam pack + for that purpose. also I find it easier to keep each trey assigned to one specific faction. that way I can get another 720 bag for the rebels and have one for the empire. or I can just swap out foam trays as needed and just use one bag and get one of those cheap cardboard boxes for home storage. my old shield bag will become the scum faction bag. It was actually pretty fun messing around with the foam creator... Good luck
