The rocks are absolutely great! I wish I had some scenery like this. But I do find them a bit limited in use, since how many meteor-fields have standard TIE-bits added to them? That said they are just rock-hard gorgeous terrain ;-)

That's fine ... Glad you like it.
OK made up some more rocks, some without big chunks of ships so the whole group looks more natural on the board. That takes me up to 9 Asteroids when I paint them which should be enough for most game..
.... though I have found some mines from Battlefleet Gothic, so once I find where I put my modeling chain I could see 3 or 4 more rocks with Mines teetered to them

OK.... Not quite finished.. the back might be er quite plain... or something... But I like how it came out. Looks very nice next to the other big ships and fighters.
And a comparison shot with a more classic Slave-1 repaint

Ahh...nice big easy to see pictures....just look at the details!
Nice, man. You can even see how good it is at flying outdoors!
Gotta say your work continues to inspire.
A little something to have in the background while I work on painting the rest of my models.
It's still really early in constructing. Even though it's meant to be put together using scrap, it probably needs all the lines cleaned up, The front area for the Astromech, all the wiring between the main chasis and the wings, extra plating. But it's a good start.
Getting the ends of the Z-95 guns made is going to be interesting I think I will need to wittle them out of plasticard.

what is this exactly? i see you have Z-95 worded in there, but it's definitely not a z95 headhunter
Z-'ceptor, it's an Ugly used by space pirates. As a little side project I'm going to over time put together 5 or 6 pirate fighters just for fun.

The nice thing is they are one of a kind made from what ever they can find, so if I make a couple of them I can put them together differently as long as I keep certain things constant like the major pieces involved, number of guns.
OK, finished all my Asteroids and Wreckage for X-Wing. Felt that the Tie Wreckage was a bit dark vs the YT. So I quickly put together a Crashed A-Wing and wrecked Y-Wing to add some more light areas to the mix.

Love the y-wing wreck with the turrets added. I always felt the model lacked those.

That's made from a couple of parts from a pocket watch, but it definitely looks nice on the Y-Wing, I'll probably make a similar modification when I get to the Y-Wings.
Before the light went I managed to get a blurry picture of the Day 2 progress, Added a turret, wiring, wing bracing, end to the Z-95 guns.

OK... done some more work on the Z-'Ceptor. Hopefully I should be able to get it sprayed tomorrow. I think it should come out really nice when painted.

That sure is an UGLY little so--oh wait it is supposed to be ugly .
I am not sure if I missed the post but how are you making the destroyed ships? Are you breaking apart ships or constructing them from scratch? Thanks in advance.
Looks good. I presume you're doing a bit of casting to get the spare parts?

To quote Francis Urquat "You might well think that, but I couldn't possibly comment"...
In other news isn't Gedeo Siligum great stuff.
'Nothing wrong with a bit of casting as long as you aint selling them. A buddy of mine was in to Warhammer a few years back. Hated the poses and casted a ton of different arms and never had 2 figures look alike
Never heard of Gedeo siligum.. But I googled. I would think you were crazy if you were buying ships to cut up.

It's interesting stuff takes only about 5 mins to dry and has a releasing agent built in so doesn't stick to anything. It's not brilliant for proper molds, you can do simple stuff like surface detail, but I wouldn't use it to make proper cast. It however makes an OK press mold for rubble.
And the ;ess than perfect castings are perfect for debris. Good call.
